This is unbelievable.

Wonder what the IQ of the driver is.

Probably below whatever the ambient air temperature was on that day.

I'll talk to my brother who plows for the county. To me it looks like the low driver was going down the left shoulder. He has told me stories  of idiots refusing to get out of the way of the plow. If there is any type of accident or damage they drug and alcohol test the driver. He was plowing at the intersection of Dick and Genesee (at the airport) where the 33 goes under he intersection. The expansion joint on the overpass somehow was dislodged  and his plow ripped a 3 foot piece of it out of the road. He had to spend about 2-3 hours at county hall in Downtown Buffalo filing out reports and taking  pee and breath tests. This was  at 5:30 AM

And you people wonder how we live with earthquakes here in CA.  😂

I sent the photos of me digging my car out of the 7 feet from Snowvember '14. They all said "How do you live in that!!!!" I just replied " It was all gone a week later" , which it was.

People ask how can we live here with earthquakes, wild fires, mudslides etc.  I tell them I've been here since 1983 and have not had anything bad happen because of those things however you all get snow every.....*****.....year!!!

We drove up to Squaw Valley from SanFran... After the 2014 Snovember storm and the shuttle bus driver between Squaw and Alpine Meadows found out that I was from BFLo and he said that when they heard about our 7' snowstorm... People there, in Truckee were all jealous and Jonsing w/BFLo! 😆

Oh... The weather is pretty bad in California.  We headed into the Sierras when a string of "Pineapple Expresses" were hitting.  Stopped in Sacramento to pick up snow chains for the rental 4x4, there was no way I was gonna be denied... They won't give you chains w/rentals... Caltrans was checking, but we were set w/4x4 & M+S tires... Returned them to AutoZone on way back down to Frisco, got my $200 back.  I guess idiots from Coast will head up into mountains with summer tires on... All it takes is one idiot to close I-80 in The Pass.

Like hurricanes, the media makes it look like everybody was affected, and nobody survived. They look for that one trailer, in that one trailer park, that had a tree on top of it. THAT is what they show people.

Those were al people that lived in the SF Bay area. Did see some snow  right in the SF Bay area. I saw a few flakes in the town I lived in the east bay on Good Friday one year.  Was driving home from Alameda and got off of the Interstate because of traffic and drove past the Oakland airport, There was about an inch of slush at the airport (sea level). Then went inland  over a ridge 0f maybe 700 feet  just before my town. Was snowing on the top of the ridge. About once a year, that ridge would get a dusting overnight and it would melt by about 11 AM.Mt Diablo, 3800 feet and about 10 miles north would once a year get snow down to about 2000 feet and it would last several days.

Once I had to go to Auburn, CA in April which is at about 1300 feet and is where tI-80 starts climbing he Sierras.  Was 80s there and you could see where the Donner pass is in the  far distance. Covered with snow.

This was about 30 years after the Donner Party tragedy during winter of 1846-'47... You can see where the Donner Party stumped the trees for firewood.  That's how high the snow was.  Yikes!

Er...yeah.  I can see it from my house.  I've lived here for nearly 40 years in 11 different places.  Never owned a snow shovel or an ice scraper.  I hopped in my car every day and never once had to shovel my driveway first to get to work.  Like 99% of most Californians.

I never once shoveled my driveway to get to work and I've lived above the Mason-Dixon Line my whole life. Who's got time for that! Why I am a "backer-innner!" 😆

Now... Getting back in into my driveway after work is another matter when socialism is dead that day and neighbor didn't clear a path.

What garages are for.  I am not gonna work before work.

It takes a village!

Yeah well, you were apparently in a position to make the rules!

I'm talking about being in like 5th grade through high school!

We never even had a snowblower!

We didn't either until after the '77 Blizzard...

...And in any case, I can still hear my old man in the back of head:

"GO shovel the driveway so when I have a heart attack the ambulance doesn't get stuck!"

😆

He's probably made it longer

than all of us will! 😕😞

Makes no sense to cascade a line of snow over a median Jersey wall into opposing traffic.  Usually at least two or three trucks would marshal that snow 'back and right', if there wasn't room in the centre to contain it.  Also, if plowing off left, usually done at a speed to control the snow.  Someone learning on the job, or supervisor trying to do too much with not enough staffing and equipment?

My Dad didn't bother with a snowblower until he had no more children living at home to help shovel.  Many mornings over the years, we'd be woken up at 6am when school was closed, because he still had to get to work.

What is that supposed to mean?  It "builds character" to make your 12 year old go shovel heavy slop in the freezing cold and pitch black darkness at 6:00am, totally sleep deprived, before walking to school?!

That was the world I grew up in--all that talk about "that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is just nonsense.

Now I live in SE FL, and the kids run around and play in the streets 12 months a year wearing skimpy clothing.  It's summer time here year round.  Their childhood is NOTHING like what mine was---totally devoid of hardships that I can see--and IMO it doesn't impact them one way or the other at all.

I sometimes look back at just how difficult/unpleasant/annoying it is to live in a harsh winter climate like WNY, and sort of laugh then cry. I still can't believe people actually choose to make a life in such a place.

I was born into it, but got out in my 20s.

Others, like my sister and many good friends I've known my whole live (and mom!) don't see it this way AT ALL.

So there you go!
