Hoping it's just some contract details that need to be worked out.

Yeah, between the weather and the Senior Bowl, I'm hoping it's just a delay getting the contract and the bodies together.

Most of our local media seem fully bought in that Joe Brady's our guy and we got him

New ESPN reporter Getzenberg:

Matt Parrino of NYUp:

So if it's not really a "done deal" there's gonna be a lot of egg to go around

At QB coach?  Easily made opening.

You don't know much about the Brown family (Bengal's owners) do you?  Also Brady didn't become available until the middle of the season and last I looked the Bengals are still playing.  So no,there was no way that Brady was going to the Bengals.

They don't hire QB coaches unless they need one and they're very patient with whoever is caching their team. They don't fire one guy just to hire another.

Owners hire position coaches?  If so, doesn't sound like they are very patient with a HC/GM.....

Like I said you don't know the Brown family.

So to be clear, they are "very patient" with their coaches, as long as the coaches let them micro-manage their coaching staff?

What CincyBillsFan says about Mike Brown not firing coaches is very true. How else do you explain how much futility they endured before firing Marvin Lewis? But there is another thing. The Brown family has very little money, relatively speaking. For example, they have no facilities that the team owns of any kind.  The county owns the stadium and there is no training complex. They practice in the stadium and the weight room is in the basement. They don’t even have a practice bubble, something even D3 college teams have. They also don’t pay a premium for assistants. They have the smallest scouting staff in the NFL. For many years, they had no college scouts at all. The only reason that they are winning now is that their core players are all on rookie contracts. Everyone talks about their cap space. They always have cap space and they never spend it. They won’t pay Tee Higgins. They might not pay Mixon.  It’s not that he cheap, it’s that the team is his only asset of any value.

I didn't understand the concept of an owner who is very patient with the HC also micromanaging his staff.  That's the opposite of patience.

Also, the Brown family isn't paying these contracts out of their personal bank accounts.  The shared revenue amount (free money revenue) last season was 274 million against a cap of 183 million.

All these new hires are great and all but there not gonna do us a darn bit of good if McDermott pulls another chicken •hit move with a game on the line and costs us a chance to move forward or make a Super Bowl..

Your heart is in the right place but this guy is obviously a troll.  BTW you did a nice job laying out the situation with the Brown family.

This is great news.

I wonder when Brady gets promoted to "Passing game coordinator " ?

As soon as he accepts a job with the Bills.
