Every time a QB gets a freaking hangnail "reports" will surface that Tom is considering a comeback and whatever team that has a QB issue is reaching out. Brett Favre loop all over again. McCorkle gets a sprained finger in training camp and goes on season ending IR, brady comes out of retirement to play for the patriots. You know you can see this happening. 1 Quote

RangerDave Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Are there any of the "old guard" QB's left? Brady, Manning, Brees, Rivers...all retired now. There was a dearth of really good quarterbacks in the NFL for a while. I am excited by all of the good young talent playing now! PS: Does anyone know what happened to the QB's who were taken in the draft before Brady was picked at #199? It is hilarious! What an absolute lousy year for QB's! Quote

Tom Brady retires: Look at how other QBs in 2000 draft class fared Interesting article. Some decent names on that list as well as some people who were in the never was category. A lot of people seem to think that Brady would have been an obvious early round pic but that simply wasnt the scouting on him at all. Add to this that a lot of NFL GMs even today are inept at their jobs (and much worse back then) and you have an explanation of why Brady gets to the 6th round. Its not much of a stretch that he might not have been drafted at all. Brady's best quality above all else was his quick thinking and understanding of the game that was near impossible to assess accurately back then or now.
