    • No. For example, Gronk will take targets away from Dawson Knox who is breaking out.

The Bills offered him a comparable one year deal to what he accepted in Tampa.

After his first year in TB im assuming? Wow. Makes me think this is more likely.  Wanted to play another year with his BF, but now that hes gone.... I cant think of a better place to go. Josh/Mahomes are in their own league, and he'd see more targets here than KC, assuming he wants to play with a top qb.

Pretty sure the Bills will want to add a mid level TE regardless. At this point, wouldn't call Gronk much more than mid level.  So IMO whoever it might be will take some targets away from Knox.  On the other hand adding another TE will also take defensive attention away from Knox so may allow him to be open more.

Last couple of weeks of the season the Bills offense seemed to play better when using two TE's so may not be a bad thing overall.  Good chance McKenzie is gone, Beasley who knows. So going with Diggs, Davis, 2 TE's and RB may work best.

If they want a mid-level TE Gronk is way out of their range...........he was 3rd in receiving yards per game for a TE(behind Mark Andrews and Kelce)....... 5th in yardage with over 800.......6th in yards per catch and 8th in TD's..........and of course he's always been an elite blocker.........he's closer to a top 5 TE in the league still.

the storylines write themselves currently.

who knows who the OC will be or what they want to do but there’s definitely a viable map to it happening

Well that’s the first time you and I agree.  You’re ok for a Pats fan.

I agree Gronk is retiring.  That basically means in 2027 we have three of the gold jackets taken first ballot in Brady, Big Ben, and Gronk.  Not even up for debate.  Like any or all of them IR hate them, they are getting in immediately.  I don’t think Larry Fitz was considered active this year so he’ll get in the year before and we’ll deserved.

Lol first it’s ok to disagree as long as we try stay civil about it. And your right what a gold jacket year in 5 years Big Ben, Brady, and Gronk.. at least..

I think Gronk retires. If he doesn’t I really think he comes to Buffalo on a 1 year $8m contract

I think he retires too.

But if he comes to Buffalo I'd expect something like the Emmanuel Sanders deal........a one year deal but with the cap hit split over two years with a voidable year in 2023.

Honestly I would do it.....2 TE sets would be interesting.

but

Didnt Gronk come out of retirement to play with Brady?  Why would he not go back into retirement?

Expand

Because right after the season ended he said his decision wasn't dependent upon Brady.  Tampa is looking like a dumpster fire, no reason to go back there.

Buffalo seems like a logical potential spot because he considered Buffalo before.  It's his home town.

I think a lot of us can relate to the thought that if we were a rich, star player toward the end of our career,, we'd like to play for our home town.  Of the market price offers I believe the Bills would have one of the best shots - home town, good QB, almost lock for playoffs, superbowl potential.  And the Bills roster construction looks like they could use him - Sanders looks out, McK out, Beas questionable.

The PFF article estimated the cost of Gronk as $7M.  The Bills could figure that out.

Or something like a vet min, but $1/2 million bonus if the Bills go to the SB and a million if they win it.

Yes.

That won't be popular take here on Ex-Pat-Bills-Drive..........but the Gronks and their business are still part of the community for those of us who actually live here.

Tell that to Tre.  What Gronk did wasn’t a “football move” or in the “heat of competition.” The play was over and he deliberately tried to take a man’s livelihood away. Eff him, his family, and their business.
