That thinking will continue to hold the team back…. Between the 8-9 man defensive line rotation and their constant emphasis on defense in general, they are doing Allen and the offense a clear disservice. It should be the priority this offseason.

Couldn’t agree more. They have spent, spent, spent on defense. Last year’s first and second round picks. The year before they took a DE. Yes, we got Diggs, but it was almost like a consolation piece so fans wouldn’t complain about the offense. It’s like taking Allen in the first in 2018…then followed it up with 3 straight defensive picks.

We are SOOO close…but I’m concerned Beane and McD think the ticket is to add more defense instead of looking at the coaching as the prime reason we lost last Sunday. We had the personnel, but the coaches failed the team.

It’s hard to complain about an offense that puts up numbers. My main thing is you need to plan ahead. Morse is on his last legs, Beasley is in his last year, Sanders and McKenzie are likely gone. Don’t forget that we have a slow RB and basically need upgrades at both OGs.

I hate that all the talk is about adding more defensive line and corner. We have the number one defense and have dumped high pick after high pick into it. I just can’t fathom watching the chiefs doing whatever they want next year as our newest defensive first and second rounders sit on the sidelines in a rotation or are largely ineffective.

Let’s load up on offense and protect our best player. Give him a speedy slot that can get YAC and a RB that can hit the hole before it closes off. I honestly think this is the best ticket to beating good teams. Out score them. The defense is the number one unit in the league. Let the players we have develop and get a mid round or FA vet to compete at CB2.

a fast CB.  not even close.

There are several positions that are needs.  But with Wallace a FA and a very strong possibility that Tre won’t be ready to go early in the season, it’s comfortably CB IMO.

This is not even close. With Tre being out till November and the possibility of Levi leaving,  I'm 100% convinced we'll take the best, fastest CB @25. We'll still target IOL but the play of Ryan Bates doesn't make it neccessary in the 1st round.

I think after a 1st round CB, you will see several offensive players drafted. Especially with the extra picks losing Daboll and maybe Frazier.  It wouldn't surprise me to see them take a chance on a mid draft DE.  I think Rousseau will improve but not AJE or Boogie. Let's say we have 10 picks, I could see 7 on offense.

It was and will still always be OL.

The goal is to outscore teams. Protect Allen and get push off the line. This offense will outscore everyone.

I'm inclined to agree with this. Our defense is good enough to hold a lot of teams down throughout the season but when you get to playoff games against the likes of Mahomes, Burrow and (soon) Herbert, you need to blow them away.

I'd love to improve the OL with FA, then go for a speedy WR (1st) and RB (3rd) in the draft, maybe a CB in RD 2

I personally would like us to upgrade our LB core.   Assuming we still have Leslie Frazier next year running a cover 2 still, it really asks a lot of our linebackers and IMO we've really been exploited the most in the middle of the field this season.   Tremaine Edmunds just hasn't been playing up to his potential and I think that's the one position we need an absolute playmaker right now.

Tremaine Edmunds is doing what he is being asked to do.

I would like to see a new DC use him differently.  Unfortunately, Daboll went to Giants which probably means Frazier now wont get a HC gig as that was his best shot.

2 biggest holes:  DB (Tre coming off injury, Levi FA) and DT (Star winding down, Phillips FA).

I think they will make a strong push to bring both Levi and Phillips back which will help shore up those holes if they can, but they still need to add another young corner (we have terrible depth) hopefully with speed and someone with size at DT.

Next up...IOL.  I don't expect any big moves at WR given Cole is still here one more year (unless they trade him) and Davis is ready to start opposite Diggs.  Probably bring in someone in FA or mid rounds of the draft.

I keep saying this we need a pass rusher someone that the other team needs to game plan for., Unfortunately we don't have just one need... we need a CB, speed WR, IOL, not in any order except Pass rusher should still be #1 (Im hoping a vet that want to win a super bowl comes on the cheap). Big wish I know.

According to Beane he expects Cole back for the final year of his contract.

How do you blow them away if the defense can't stop them????   it make the offense have to be perfect AND you have to end the game having the ball (with less than 13 sec.) so you're good with a 50% chance at beating the chiefs and whoever else every year?

Beane always says what he means and does what he says.  And he said to expect Cole back, he has one more year on his contract.  So I really don' there is much chance of him being cut, unless Cole does something stupid.

I do think he is a possible trade candidate though.  But barring a trade, he will most likely be our slot WR still this year.

I did just post a thread about Saquan and how we might use Cole in a trade with the Giants.  Makes a lot of sense on both sides given Cole comes off the books after this year and could give immediate help to Jones to see if there is anything there to work with.  And could bring us back draft picks or someone like Saquan.

Lack of effective pass rush was the single biggest reason we couldn't stop the Chiefs. We need a finisher at DE.

If I'm looking for impact on the D, this is where I'd go.

That said, supplying weaponry to JA and fortifying the OL would be prudent.

As long as Josh is here, catering to him is paramount.

Doesn't mean you neglect positions elsewhere. We do have multiple picks.

Priority is to keep the offense humming seamlessly.

Saquan and that contract? ***** no… The Bills don’t need to invest gigantic cap space into a RB. That would be the complete opposite of what they need…. and no, Beane doesn’t always say what he means or do what he says… he said they needed more team speed last off-season. They proceeded to do nothing about it.

No way you spend 1 penny on a RB. Draft Moss's replacement on a cheap 5 yr rookie deal. And maybe he ends up better than Singletary? Absolutely no huge deal. Sequon is over rated anyway.

I am surprised to hear no one mention TE.  Remember those games Dawson Knox was injured?  Tommy Sweeney was invisible and Gilliam isn't an option.  Having another good TE gives us more flexbility to benefit our run game and allows us to do more 2 TE formations.

I think we need an upgrade at RB.  Singletary is good but how would this offense look with a very good RB?

The only position I would want to upgrade on the OL would be center and that's a maybe for me.  It depends on how we are going to establish the run.  If we are going to continue to get the OL guys on the move then I think we can make it work with Morse.

My picks

Go after C Ben Jones from the Titans in free agency

1st round CB Kaiir Elam Florida (great compliment to Tre....has size, toughness)

2nd round TE Jaylen Wedeymeyer Texas A&M (could end up being better than Knox is big and can move)

3rd round Kyren Williams RB Notre Dame (looks as good if not better than singletary with a little more power and speed)

4th round or later, I'd like to see them get someone to play the 1 technique

The idea of adding a "quality" TE excites. Having two that can catch and block could introduce a nice wrinkle.

On obvious short yard situations mid-field, having a TE release from his blocking duties and heading up field interests me.

As long as we're going to play a rush 4 defensive scheme, the answer has to be DL.Outside of a few select top-tier CBs, most can't lock down top WRs forever, so you depend on consistent pass rush to get there in order to force quicker throws.

Yes, we've invested a lot in DL, but we haven't found our TJ Watt yet, so we shouldn't stop trying until we get one. MLB is is also a huge need in my book and if we let Levi walk, CB is also a need. All that said though, one dominant Dlineman makes everyone else on the defense better, so that's my pick.

We might lose Levi Wallace in FA, will Tre come back and pick up right where he left off or will he be back in tip top form? I really liked how Dane Jackson did so he looks like the favorite to take the place of Wallace, I'd like some depth here but nothing that will break the bank (Desmond King (HOU) seems to fit the requirement- 93 tackles, 3 INT, 1 FF).

We're most likely letting Jerry Hughes go in FA, I would like a solid veteran replacement like Melvin Ingram, Jadaveon Clowney, Emmanuel Ogbah and Dante Fowler etc. also a solid veteran DT alongside of Ed Oliver like Larry Ogunjobi (CIN) would be ideal also.

In the draft i think they'll go for offensive players, OL should be priority 1 imo (Bernard Raimann- Central Michigan and Trevor Penning- Northern Iowa would be the 2 I'd pin point), the right side could use upgrades, Cody Ford is a complete bust and Darryl Williams really struggled. I think RT may be our 1st pick in round #1, I think for sure somewhere in the draft we pick up a speed WR (Someone like Memphis WR Calvin Austin III, I think he's a solid all around player), also a speed RB with good hands (I like Jerome Ford Cincinnati and Tyler Goodson Iowa). I think CB depth, LB depth and TE depth will also be addressed.

Tyreek Hill made 39 look like he was standing still......just saying

Just like he does to every corner in the league. No one can run with him
