I am dreading Sunday at 3:00 pm almost like the anniversary of a death

I'm actually looking forward to it. Let's move on from this freaking game. Only thing I really don't wanna see is any highlights from the game, and you know they'll show them

I put in another thread it's on small tv and US vs Canada World cup Qualifying match on big tv. Although of course it's only on Spanish and refuse to pay for another streaming service.

I definitely got this Bills attitude from my dad. The last text he sent me during the game was “13 seconds and three timeouts. Not over yet.” 
 

So, since the NFL season seems so fast and the off-season blows, I’ll definitely be watching the games this weekend. Rooting for the Bungles, because why not. 
 

 

I can relate to your dad's text.  I watched the game with family and didn't say it out loud but before the Bass kick off I thought to myself "how are they going to blow this one"?  A lifetime of inconceivable last minute losses will do that to you.  Hell, the week before I was nervous about only having a 23 point lead going into the 4th quarter.  I don't think I can take another one of these.  I'll need grief counseling or some kind of anxiety treatments.  They need to win it all next year.  That's just all there is to it.

It’s going to be great football.  I’m looking forward to both games.  Not the same as if the Bills were playing, but it’s still playoff football.  Actually, my son has a 2:00 hockey game about 45 minutes away, so we’ll be hustling home so we can relax and enjoy some good football.

It helps if gambling is a hobby.  I'm going to have to check in to see how my KC -7 bet is doing, and if KC blows them out as expected, I believe the wrong team will be favored in the Super Bowl (or at the very least it should be pick'em), setting up another great bet there.

Honestly, though, I don't think I'll ever be able to watch even a single highlight from the KC game.  Which is a shame, because it's obviously a classic.  But that game is nothing but pain for me now.  It's like revisiting a nightmare.

I felt the same. I'll probably watch the start of the game to see if Cincy can pull an upset. Everyone has put KC in the Super Bowl already so they'll be feeling disrespected and will come out super aggressive and fired up, especially on defense. Burrow can put points up against their defense as he's already shown but he needs a clean game and the O-line needs to somehow try and keep him on his feet. Hopefully they've designed some quick passes to Chase hoping he can do his trick of taking it to the house

It isn't at all, very blessed with good health, a great family including 1 grandchild and one on the way, great friends, and a good job.If the NFL went out of business I would be disappointed, but it would not wreck my life. I think if it wasn't the up and down of that last two minutes where I went from excitement to disappointment to jubilation to shock .. I would have been fine. Just crazy.

 

Thank you though .. it was good advice though as some have mentioned mental struggles.

I rarely watch a playoff game once the BIlls have been eliminated and I won't this year either. It isn't because I am hanging on to any emotions from Sunday's game. I simply don't care and I would rather do something more productive with my time.

 

For me, this year is over and I am already looking forward to free agency, the draft, and next season.

Its been a tough week for us all.  The sadness, disappointment and bitterness is all very palpable.  My brothers who live on the West Coast and I had a conference call yesterday about some business matters for our elderly father who has dementia.  Well we started discussing the game, and within minutes it deteriorated to where we were all pissed and miserable again.  I am just trying not to think about it.  And am just looking forward to building a stronger team (especially on defense) for 2022 and believing that we will be Super Bowl champions soon enuf w Josh Allen at the helm.  

 

As for Sunday's Championship games.  The NFC should be a dandy.  And I will watch the AFC if for no other reason then I will have a bet on the game.  And I love football.  And would never miss a Championship game.  But the pain inside will still be there.  And that won't go away for awhile.  I can't wait for NASCAR to start next Sunday.  It will take my mind away from what might have been.
