I might be crazy but it seems he is strongly motivated by these failures and by rejection. I think he’ll improve even more (if that’s possible) as a result. This is why I roll my eyes at the fans  who constantly complain JA isn’t getting respect, pro bowls, mvp’s, etc. Good! This is what motivates him!!! He will dust the competition in a year or 2.

Over the last 48 hours my disappointment and pity has shifted from the fans to Josh. Josh deserves to be playing next Sunday. He is a special player and a great person. The Bills and Josh will both get what they deserve, I just hope it comes sooner than later.

I mean, they’re not telling me anything I didn’t already know 2 years ago, but I guess late to the party is better than never.

I’m bummed out about how it ended. That was a performance for the ages. I hope he goes over 9000 and just lays waste to everything in his path next year.

Who is "the great Jason Kirk" and what makes him great?  Enquiring minds just want to know.

If Josh Allen succeeds, the Bills will have outsmarted basically all regular humans and the entirety of math itself

If this works, then stats really are for losers, I guess.

I know what he wrote, but what achievements or accomplishments or what all make this Jason Kirk dude "great"?

Like I would call Greg Cosell "great" as a film analyst because he's been analyzing film on NFL QBs since the '80s and seems to know his ***** and be generally respected and highly regarded by NFL insider types.  There are some other guys whose opinions or mannerisms I may not be in sync with, but who have made genuinely big contributions one way or another and might merit to be called great.

Even as Bills fans we wondered if Josh Allen could reach his ceiling and be able to sustain it for more than one game.

Now we know. We know what he can do, we saw it, in pressure filled playoff games two weeks in a row. The whole NFL world saw what he can do for multiple games. If we get that Josh Allen for 17 games next year the Bills should be hosting the playoffs instead of the Chiefs. Play that game at Orchard Park and it may have been different.

This year feels a bit like 1989. It wasn't bickering, but it was a let down coming off of a AFC Championship game the year prior.

JA knows the level he needs to play at now, and he can do it. The whole football world knows now. No more Jacksonville or Pittsburgh style games if you want home field and a more secure path to the Super Bowl.

McDermott took one on the chin too. He knows he can not waste any more Allen seasons. I hope Beane pulls the trigger on the next Melvin Ingram/ Von Miller style opportunity mid season. The Bills did nothing to improve the team as the season wore on. Multiple players became available who could have helped and we did nothing. The chips should be all in from now on. We all know we have the QB, you have to go all in.

This sucks right now, but it may be for the best going forward.

I think a LOT of athletes use that sort of psychology for motivation.

"We don't get any respect" and that sort of thing.

im guessing it was just one Sb Nation author giving props to another one.   Jason Kirk is the editor at   SBNationCFB and co-host of Shutdown Fullcast. Jason Kirk is a longtime college sports journalist, editor, and podcaster.

You make sense.  So basically it's a jr employee sucking up to his boss.

Returning to the OP and the OP link:

All the film clips they put up are great, and I love the "QB Love" our guy is getting, but I personally think it's MORE painful to have that loss while Josh was playing at a mega-star level.

I'll say this... I teach Seniors in High School. There are a couple kids who I talk a lot of football with. They've kinda ragged on me about the Bills over the year and laughed when I said Josh Allen is probably the most talented overall QB in the NFL.

Yesterday when I saw these 2 students they said Josh Allen is their new favorite player.

As for me, I  agree that this offseason I can't be nearly as dejected as we were during the drought or even last year when KC was clearly better... or does that make it worse?

I'm convinced Allen wins minimum 2 or 3 Super Bowls for Buffalo. This is just a year subtracted from his opportunities.
