wettlaufer Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 On the twitters today. Not if Josh has a say, sounds like. 1 1
BuffaloBill Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 I doubt the Bills let Dorsey walk away. He would be insane to leave Josh Allen. 4 1 1
Jpsredemption Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Would you rather be and OC for Josh Allen or whatever they are going to do in NY? 8
BuffaloBillyG Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Just now, BuffaloBill said: I doubt the Bills let Dorsey walk away. He would be insane to leave Josh Allen. Yea, I would imagine if Allen has been pushing for Dorsey to take over there has likely been discussion between Josh and Dorsey. 1
Boatdrinks Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Sounds like McDermott wants to promote from within if they have staff openings. Said as much at his presser anyway. Doesn’t mean Dorsey stays but they’d probably make a strong offer.
Alphadawg7 Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 (edited) Daboll may intend to, does not mean Dorsey accepts if the Bills also offer him the OC position here. I will bet Daboll told Dorsey that he would take him with him, and told the Giants the same. And Dorsey probably said he would because Daboll hasn’t left yet and the Bills haven’t offered yet. I would seriously doubt he goes to NYG if the Bills offer him to be the OC with Allen. That puts him on the fast track to a HC gig if he stays here and has continued success and possibly even a SB win. Edited January 25, 2022 by Alphadawg7 4
BillsFanSD Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Which opportunity would I rather have? Become the guy who leads Josh Allen's offense, a role that just got my predecessor one of 32 HC gigs? Or become the guy who leads Daniel Jones? Tough call. 1
NewEra Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 If Dorsey wants to go to NY, we should offer him the OC position (if he’s their preference). If he declines it and prefers to go to NY, **** that guy, why would we want such an idiot running our offense? He’ll be out of a job in 2-3 years and will be looking for a qb coaching job
Logic Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 It would make no sense for Dorsey to go to NY, where Daboll would likely be calling plays, Dorsey would be OC in name only, and would have Daniel Jones as his quarterback. Instead, he could stay in Buffalo, become the ACTUAL offensive coordinator (i.e. playcaller) and have Josh Allen as his quarterback. Seems like a no brainer. 2

Greg S Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 If Daboll needs an OC this is guy is available and he knows the area. 2
Jim Bob Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Dorsey as the OC to replace Daboll makes sense for Dorsey and the Bills. For Dorsey, it is a way better career move to be an OC for a defensive head coach and with a QB like Josh Allen. For the Bills, it makes sense from a continuity and keeping your franchise QB happy POV. The only way that Dorsey leaves is if he or the Bills don't think he's ready to be an OC for a defensive head coach like McD. But, I doubt it plays out like that.
N.Y. Orangeman Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Josh will make Dorsey a HC in 3 years. 2 1
LABILLBACKER Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Daniel Jones will literally be a backup in 2 years. Dorsey would have a top NFL QB for the next several years. He can't be that stupid.
Greg S Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Per today's Daily News Schoen's introductory press conference is scheduled for Wednesday at noon. The Giants aren't expected to announce a HC before then.
JohnNord Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Do you think the Bills prefer Chad Hall as OC? He seems to be a rising star on the staff

Dorsey could be a hot name for HC next year if he's OC here. But you also never know... maybe he and Daboll are close. Either way, ANY OC would want this job working with Allen! You're instantly a genius. 1
