KC traveled 48 yards in 16 seconds vs Patriots. Those "few more seconds" would've literally changed the outcome of the Bills game. It's not that uncommon to see ~30 second FG drives to end games. It's unprecedented to see a 13 second FG drive like that Ie. In it has never happened.... Quote

Sullivan: Bills' McDermott choked away Super Bowl-caliber season Pretty fair summary, actually. A little overblown in the criticism, but it's hard to argue that it's undeserved. Quote

The Bills did intend to match the Colts offer to Wolford but Indy put an "escalator" clause in the contract where Wolford would be guaranteed to be the highest paid offensive player on the team. The Bills couldn't match that because they had Kelly and Thomas under contract for big $..........the Colts didn't have sh*t..........so basically the Bills would have had to pay A LOT more than Indy to match the contract. Polian was furious. The league didn't void the contract but agreed that loophole was not something that should be allowed and banned such tactics in future deals. Wolford really f*cked the Bills on that deal. Then the NFL f*cked Buffalo again when they awarded 1st round comp picks to Philly and Arizona for simply not re-signing Reggie White and Tim McDonald..........the Bills had to wait a year and then got just a second rounder for losing elite LT Will Wolford to a league technicality. Tim McDonald was a safety for chrissake. 2 1 1 Quote
Don Otreply Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Jerry is predictable and boring, and that’s on a good day…, 🥱 Go Bills!!! Quote
BMWR100RT Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 This thread makes my head hurt. For the first time in many years I have sustained optimism. We are playing relevant football in December and the future is bright. At the heart of McDermott's "process" is a driven to improve mindset. Take a deep breath and enjoy. 1 Quote

And KC traveled roughly the same distance, in just a few more seconds. They were down to the NE 20 with just under 20 seconds left (had they had one of those extra timeouts that they did against us, they would have called one and probably won w/ a TD). The situations are almost exactly comparable. The situations are almost exactly comparable, but the results are not at all comparable. It took KC 16 seconds to move 50 yards because the Patriots actually played defense. It took them 10 seconds against us because we did not play defense. Defending the field for those extra 6 seconds is literally the difference between us winning and losing. We actually only needed to slow them down by 1.5 seconds per play but instead we just let them execute both plays with no resistance. Very few teams in the league could have made the plays that the Chiefs made against the Patriots. Any practice squad could have done what the Chiefs did against us because we didn't even try to stop it. 3 Quote
turftoe Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Jerry Sullivan. What will be his next step down from the Niagara Gazette? "Look at me, I used to be a big shot at the Buffalo News." Please go away. Quote

turftoe Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Sean McDermott has been the best coach we have had. Poor Jerry will look like the tool that he is when we win the Super Bowl. Jerry thrived when he could bash the bills when they were bad. Now he has to really reach for something bad to say. Jerry being Jerry. So glad he is Mr. Insignificant at the world renowned Niagara Gazette. 1 minute ago, Nextmanup said: You're hoping he just "goes away" and in order to help with that, you thought you'd revive a month old thread buried on page 5? LMAO I didn't look at the date. It still felt good to get that off my chest. Quote

But posion pill contracts occurred after, before NFL shut them down. A fight of contracts between Vikes and Seahawks. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2020/4/29/21118726/steve-hutchinson-poison-pill-clause-vikings-seahawks-nfl-free-agency-hall-of-fame Edited February 21, 2022 by cba fan 1 Quote
