brianb386 Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 IMO, it is to be expected, this was a painful loss. It takes some testicular fortitude to be on this board on a night like tonight. 1 Quote

By November we were strategizing on draft picks … we now have gone to the playoffs 4 of 5 years. we have a superstar quarterback, a very solid defense that carried this team most of the year - and anytime we lose TBD spews more hate at our team than the network talking heads. Enjoy what should be a tremendous number of years. It has been a great ride and look forward to where we are headed … GO BILLS. This isn’t any normal loss. This is one of the most gut wrenching losses ever. Up by 3 with 13 seconds left and you lose the game. It’s definitely not going to be pleasant in here. 1 2 Quote
Evian Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Unbearable? The Bills just experienced the worst loss by any team in any sport. EVER. This makes the loss to the Giants in the Superbowl look like nothing. How do you blow a lead like that? Textbook squib kick and keep all the receivers in front of you. GAME OVER. That loss is beyond inexcusable. This team will never recover. The only solution is to fire the head coach and DC. They are never winning a championship with dumb and dumber on the coaching staff. 1 1 1 1 Quote

After a game like this, do you expect everyone to just say how thankful we are for being able to get to this point? Serious? Talk after a game, threads like this....talk after a big win, that is the REASON message boards and social media exist. Quote

Mango Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Mods are working overtime after a really tough loss. Thanks for putting together a great place to talk Bills (most of the time) 1 Quote
Mikie2times Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 People need to deal with what they're feeling. That's why you see it get like this. Sure, with context, we had a solid year. We also just missed the best chance we had at winning a SB since Wide Right and lost a playoff game in the most excruciating way since MCM, so it's not like this is just a run of the mill. This will go down in Bills lore. Further and I'm sure others exist in this camp, but what is the takeaway from this? Last year we had a takeaway. How do we beat the Chiefs? How are the Chiefs not a step even closer to becoming the Patriots for us just on the biggest stage? I don't have a silver lining right now and saying things like we used to suck so we should be thankful or a few weeks ago we never thought we would even win a game. Those don't really work as silver linings a year removed from an AFC championship appearance and blowing a lead with 13 seconds. 1 Quote

Buffalosouth Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 I'd rather live here and have a chance every year. But this year did feel special. Overtime maybe should play there 15 minutes in the playoffs. 2 Quote
GunnerBill Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 A lot of people who can only react emotionally I'm afraid. Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 People have a right to vent chances are if we hold for 13 freaking seconds we win the super bowl this year as none of the other teams are in the Bills class let people vent this defense which the bills have spent a ton of money and draft picks on failed spectacularly 1 Quote
IronyAbounds Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Honestly, what do you expect? People to just keep clapping? 1 Quote

I often do take a hiatus for a day or two after a loss. It's a good decision, usually. why, because analyzing games without rose colored glasses is too hard? The reality of the NFL is you need multiple superstars to win. We have ONE. our D is a disaster and has been most of the year against good teams. We can't put a complete 60 min game together. It's a problem and I think it stems from personnel. NO impact players on front 7, and only really Allen and WR's on offense. In a conference with Mahomes, Herbert, and Burrow, we won't be winning many playoff games unless Bean is gone. Quote
Big Blitz Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 We were beating the Texans by 2 TDs in the 4th quarter if I recall. Yep. Let's keep running it back D! Quote

But it's going to get very infuriating if Bean can't figure out how to build a D that can stop other teams, esp. in crunch time. Otherwise, we won't win a single thing. Quote
Sargent Hulka Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 It's a tradition. I remember when the Chiefs beat us 31-7 in 1966, at War Memorial, to go to the first Super Bowl. We pretty much sucked from then until '73, when we had OJ, the Electric Company, and Lou Saban back. Since '65, it seems like 25 year cycles until we challenge again. So, go ahead and vent! Quote

Total failure, and failure by Frazier to go into prevent. I'd make the D take a bus home. They failed the team. 4 minutes ago, Mango said: Mods are working overtime after a really tough loss. So its cool we blew a lead with 13 seconds left? its unheard of in football outside of a kickoff return like music city miracle... The defensive gameplan was ***** and it should be talked about. the special teams play to not squib to kill some clock should also be discussed. This should have been a W and the bills hosting afc championship. IT doesnt mean much to casual fans i suppose, but to us die hard bleed red white and blue bills fans it means a ton. Sure we will be back for years to come but no one should be ok with this loss.... Quote
