Exactly what they needed. Sends a message to the rest of the team they mean business and are going for it…. Not really a fan of them essentially using the rest of the cap on the defensive line but they still can maneuver to bring in another solid pick up or two… still don’t love the state of their offensive line… thought they’d attack it a lot more than they have… hopefully it means their draft is going to be offensive heavy. 👍🏻

Hope so.  Draft should net in a starting CB,  speedy WR and a lot of depth for OL.    Everything else is set up for this team to win the SB

Agree. I just think with letting Williams go and signing Saffold they will draft OT that can play guard instead of C/G first. The second OL they draft will be later and an interior guy. 

The wildcard is Ford. Can he at least be average with Kromer as a coach? Doesn't look like it but it would help alot if Bates leaves

I agree. Always prefer to draft a tackle that can play some OG too.  Mafia might be sold on Spencer @ RT, I’m not.  He seems like a great run blocker and even better in pass protection after the play has broken down and Josh is scrambling around doing his things biding time for the receivers to get open.  In pass protection off the snap…. He’s reminds her of Colin Brown @ tackle.  He really gets beat badly at times.  Never seen an OG his size, but would love to give it a try.  Dude can move and would be great pulling imo.  But can he can help play the position?  Would love to land Penning and put those guys side by side.  Josh might not be able to see over them though.

I mean, let's not go too overboard here...the left side of our line is very strong with Dawkins and Saffold, Morse is no All-Pro but he's a very good C, and I get that people aren't sold on Spencer yet, but he did show great promise as a rookie and should get even better with another year and Kromer. Really, the only real weakness is a single position, RG. They'll take care of it one way or another. How many teams are strong at all five positions?

Going overboard?  Right now we have Ford and Brown on the right side.  
 

You don’t see Brown as a weakness….but he’s not a good RT yet.  He’s not even average.  We’re banking on him improving but as of now….he should be worried about.      I wasn’t worried about Cody ford going into year 2.  I knew could improve.  But then he didn’t. We were using Knox to chip on Browns side because they didn’t trust him fully.  And as of now he’ll be lined up next to who? Yeah.  Ford.

I mean you show 1 play where our rookie RT is going up against one of the premiere pass rushers in the NFL Melvin Ingram, even the best get beat some times. I thought Spencer Brown held his own for a rookie coming off the bench. We aren't going to have all pros all along the OL, it's just not going to happen and Josh Allen will have to improvise while some of these guys mature.

I showed one play becssue I don’t have the technology or the time to show all of the mistakes….he’s made PLENTY

   Or maybe Williams gets signed back but at a more acceptable pay rate for a guard that's not at top of position rankings.

Brown was not good at all in pass protection. He was ok in run blocking.

I’m sure he can.  I’m just wondering if he thinks he’s worth it.  The fact that he wouldn’t give him a higher tender is puzzling if in fact he will match an offer structured to make it hard on us to fit.

Both of the tackles drafted last year were considered to be the most athletic in their class. Maybe they are banking on Kromer being able to do something with them and the rest of the OL for that matter. I think there is some logic to that. My opinion is that the OL was playing re-actively instead of taking it to the defense. That is certainly true in regards to the run game. It took half the season before they began to figure things out. Just seems to me that coaching has a lot to do with that. Still think we need more help on the interior. We need a backup center. The one we have is one concussion away from a career ending injury. We need some real power on that interior or at the very least some guys that know how to pull. Can't run with power if you don't have any and can't pull without some speed. I think the coaches took to long time to figure out what kind of a line we had last year. That is something I think Kromer will see right away and be able to suggest who to get to help out. The real need though is not focusing so much on the run but rather keep Josh upright.....something that should be teachable. I'm kind of excited about how things will play out. The OL clearly had issues through the first half of the season. I think issues will be addressed quickly this year.

I think that we should in the market to draft a beastly OT if one is there @ 25.  I think that we need to have a solid G playing next to him.  I think that he needs to improve or josh may get injured due to his ineptness.  I think that some fans think we’re automatically set @ RT for the next 3 years because we have him, while I’m not so sure 

 

I think is a below average RT and we don’t have a RG…..and that it could be a problem.

I'm sure he did, it was his first season in the NFL. I'm not arguing that we need better play there, I hope Kromer will get the very best out of him but for the most part I thought he did a really good job all considering.

There’s numerous examples of Brown getting abused in pass protection…. They don’t need all pros, they just need solid linemen. They’ve had a mediocre to bad line the last two seasons.

I think that Josh made him look MUCH better than he was.  More than several plays where he got wrecked off the snap in which Josh should’ve gotten sacked/fumbled…..but no one remembers anything other than Josh making a spectacular play to avoid the sack.  
 

If you’d like to see them….watch the games in which he played.  Why should I waste my precious time on this earth in order to show you something that you missed?
