We are great. Last year we were clearly a half step below them. This year we are capable of going toe to toe, jab for jab. We are never gonna have easy games against them. But in the spirit of trying to find those extra 1%s a full home crowd might help. 1 Quote

We didn’t have a stellar home record this season either. Have you been to a playoff game at home? Last week's was eerily similar to the 1990s, there is a reason when we had home field back then we were tough to beat. It gets loud... Would make it harder on KC. These 2 teams are evenly matched any small advantage helps 9 minutes ago, dave mcbride said: In his MMQB column last week (paywalled) Albert Breer talked about the cornerback problem at the college level. He said that after talking to scouts that it's really bad right now -- almost all of the great athletes are choosing to playing WR. He said it was notable that of some of the good young ones, many are the sons of former NFL CBs, who presumably have the business sense to point out to their sons that there is more money and more opportunity for elite athletes who choose to play CB instead of WR. But again, he stressed that NFL scouts are telling him that the CB problem at the college level is a huge problem right now. There aren't enough good athletes. This is why Levi will get overpaid in FA. I'm not sure he will sign for less to stay (he might, but he needs to make $$$ while he can) 3 Quote
FilthyBeast Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 There's not rocket science at play here, you do what Brandon Beane commented on last year and what should have been the case this year.....play consistent football all season and secure home field advantage in the playoffs against the Chiefs. But in between you certainly need a different direction on defense, continue to improve the trenches, and this is probably the year you have to be willing to make a big splash trade and give up 1st round picks like the Rams and other contenders have done. 1 Quote

Far be it for me to give mention to Nick Wright, but he flat out stated this morning that Buffalo wins that game if it's in Buffalo. Felt that Arrowhead carried KC. 2 Quote
May Day 10 Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 I wonder if Brady retires, if Gronkowski would consider signing with the Bills. Quote
Strethor Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 There needs to be a consistent strategy in place for how to handle close games. We were 0-7 in close games this year, that's on coaching. Need to plan better, it's fine to get shocked one year if that lights a fire under our Coaches. Every team has a limited window if ours is a decade plus more we need to have things to show for this level of QB play. 1 Quote

John from Riverside Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 This was the 2nd best team in football this year. You look for things that can improve the team..... One thing I would look at is YAC.....noticed how Mahommes gets ton of YAC yards from his receivers? Josh Allen buries the ball in a receivers chest and they are immediately tackled. Get a YAC monster on this team Quote

Cut the old weight on this team - Hughes, Addison, Beasley, etc. Fire Frazier if no one hires him. I would get rid of Milano also. Quote

After that blatant personal foul on Tre a couple of years ago, I never want to see Gronk on the Bills. He's a punk IMO. Quote
TheBrownBear Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 - I think our secondary is fine for one more year assuming that Tre comes back heathy (and there's no reason to believe he won't). Maybe draft a developmental guy in the mid rounds. - Edmunds needs to be replaced or kicked to an outside backer position. - Find one stud defensive end via FA or trade. I think this is truly the one missing piece from this team. - Re-sign McKenzie and put him to use in Beasley's role. Let Beasley walk. Watching KC stretch out our D you realize you need that speed piece in the offense and McKenzie can provide it at a reasonable price tag. If McKenzie leaves, then I make a speedster/slot guy a high priority in FA or in the 1st two rounds of the draft. - Add more big uglies in the interior O-Line. Prioritize center and guard. We need to let Feliciano and Ford go. - Find a Moss replacement. Big back that can pick up a few tough yards. Quote
Success Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Our needs are few. We can shore some units up, for sure. We need another good TE, probably another CB. I had thought we'd need to go all in on the O-line, but they've been great the past month+. We DO need a playmaker on D/pass rush specialist. I think Oliver has progressed well, and Rousseau shows promise. But we need a true disruptor - we need this team's version of Bruce Smith. Quote

We had lots of good secondary play yesterday, but Mahomes had enough time to find an open guy. If Bruce Smith or even Mario Williams is on this team, it's probably a different outcome. There definitely isn't a Smith available, and there probably isn't a player near Mario's level either, but I think you have to try to find one, or create it through innovative scheme. Looks like Cinci did it with great secondary play and pass rush rush. That works too. 1 Quote

Three different styles. We have holes to fill versus all of them. Its hard to win in the NFL. 1 Quote

There were a good amount of good pass rushers available last offseason, they passed on all of them in favor of Addison, Obada, and two rookies…. At some point I hope they go all in with adding true playmakers on both sides of the ball and sacrificing cap space in the process. And now that Beane decides to go all in and get Von Miller…….crickets from you. Not even one post since the signing. Too funny 1 Quote

Sends a message to the rest of the team they mean business and are going for it…. Not really a fan of them essentially using the rest of the cap on the defensive line but they still can maneuver to bring in another solid pick up or two… still don’t love the state of their offensive line… thought they’d attack it a lot more than they have… hopefully it means their draft is going to be offensive heavy. 👍🏻 Yeah I’m with you in on the OL. I expect at least 1 OL in the first 3 rds then another 1 later. Retaining Bates will be key, but I think he’s gone 1 Quote
