Doc Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Why does that picture have Shaq Lawson in it? 2 Quote
BringBackFlutie Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) Yeah I mean it's a great strength exercise but fatigue throughout your legs while you're using every muscle to move in every direction, is going to put serious strain on the ligaments/tendons responsible for stabilizing that motion. For instance- treatment for most tendonitis is to strengthen the muscle parallel to the ligament. (I.e. for tennis elbow, you strengthen the forearms; for runner's knee you strengthen the hamstrings; for Achilles issues you strengthen the calves). Saxum Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Quote Buffalo faces the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round on Saturday without any injured starters. White is not a starter? 2 Quote
Warcodered Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 I'd comment on our number of leg injuries this year, but I'm not jinxing anything. 1 2 Quote
Nextmanup Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 I've been saying for YEARS that NFL players are way over-pumped and tight--and that they need to focus less on weight lifting in general and more on stretching and flexibility. Sounds like we (among others) have caught onto this idea and it's helping. Look at how many guys injure themselves during non-contact! That's crazy and it shouldn't happen. But they are all so "tight".... 1 Quote
Sierra Foothills Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 In any context the NFL is a very competitive entity. As such, I'd just as soon that this remain a closely-held team secret. It's the one aspect of Belichick I agree on: you don't disclose a damn thing about your team, especially if it can benefit your opponents. 3 Quote

I cut squats from my workouts...um...37 years ago. Come to think of it, that's when I simply stopped working out. 2 4 Quote
BillnutinHouston Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 I squat for my daily constitutional, that is all. 1 Quote

Squats with bad form are definitely bad. Squats with proper form are excellent for long term health, just don't be a fool and think you can squat heavy long term. Medium intensity Squats done with good form are all that average people need. I get why athletes push the weight as it improves their explosiveness, only surpassed by power cleans. 1 2 Quote
Jerome007 Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Of course DURING the season there is so much physical grind that you can't push it. But as the article clearly says, it's for in-season. Off season it's another story Quote
947 Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 I'm sure they're doing plenty of other leg exercises during the season, so they're keeping the strength & mass up but not doing an extremely harsh exercise. I like it. Quote
Shaw66 Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Well, I wonder about this article. First, how many other teams don't do squats during the season? Second, maybe a little research would help. He says the Bills don't have any injured starters. They just have injured bench players, like White and Feliciano. Okay, maybe Feliciano is back. Quote

Did White do squats? Ever? Quote
