CorkScrewHill Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Kyle Brandt was on One Bills Live and he mentioned how over-yped the Cowboys always are .. given they have not even been to an NFC Championship since 1996. This was surprising to me as they are always sooooooo hyped by the media I had assumed that it was more recent. In fact the only teams that join them in not making it to a Championship game in this timeframe is very short. Cowboys Lions Texans Bengals Browns ... and the Fish .. so sad for Miami. In fairness we were part of that crew as well until last year, but we were never hyped like the pokes. Quote
Augie Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 I wish the Cowboys got hyped……..just as much as the Lions. Remember the Lions? They are still in the NFL, but you’d hardly know it. 1 Quote
DabillsDaBillsDaBills Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Cowboys have made the playoffs 11 times since '96 without making it to the conference finals. 11 playoff appearances without making the conference finals is the longest such streak in the NFL 1 Quote

The Lions, the Dolphins, the Bengals and the Browns have been dysfunctional messes over much of that period. The Cowboys have been competitive. They just haven't taken their chances in the playoffs. 1 Quote
SoCal Deek Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Go figure! I had no idea the Lions were trying to get to the Championship game. 1 1 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 They have won 5 SuperBowls. They are in the the 5th largest TV market. They are one of the winningest franchises in NFL history. They have a huge fan base outside of Dallas. I'm struggling to see the mystery 1 1 Quote

I don't know if agree on the Bengals, they were really good for a long stretch. They had a legit shot at a Super Bowl when Burfect single handely lost them that playoff game against the Steelers. Was pretty shocked they hadn't won a playoff game in 30 years. Ah to exist in a division without Brady and Spygate, and to think we could have had that... Right on with the other teams and the Bengals were definitely not great a lot of that time as well. 1 Quote
Steptide Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 (edited) They were talking on wgr the other morning how Manning lost to Brady 6 times in the playoffs before finally beating him. This was surprising to me, but actually put things in perspective a little bit. It may taken Allen and the bills years to get over the hump of kc. Obviously I hope that's not the case, but I don't think the bills losing this Sunday is the end of the world. It'll be a big disappointment no doubt, but nobody should go jumping off a cliff Edit - I just realized I posted this in the wrong topic lol. Whatever though 😅 Edited January 21, 2022 by Steptide 1 Quote

Think about the NBA and the Celtics. The Celtics are still looked upon as a prime NBA team, yet they have a grand total of 1 championship in the last 36 years. Pisses me off every time I think about that. Anyhow, it isn't surprising the Cowboys with no championships in the last 25 years are still viewed as a top franchise. 1 Quote
Talley56 Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 And there's a very good chance the Bengals come off that list in the next few days. 1 1 Quote

T master Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 I love it that the Boys are always so hyped because that means its just that much more of a disappointment to Jerry & Micheal when their mouths over run their asses !! Quote
