Buftex Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 I have heard Sal C say a few times, that he has a "hunch" that the Bills will be playing a game somewhere over-seas next season. Quote
sullim4 Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 This is Muki confusing the 17th game with the 17th week. 1 Quote

Next year's 17 game schedule has the AFC teams with 8 home games and 9 road games. So if the over-seas game is a "road" game then that is good for the Bills. 8 home games, 8 on the road, and 1 neutral site game. 2 Quote
GA BILLS FAN Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 The NFL doesn't begin working on dates for 2022 schedule until after Super Bowl Quote
Jay_Fixit Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 But will it be at 6:30 instead of the usual 8:30? 1 Quote
ticketssince61 Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 If true, would be a bummer as Bills would have games against 5 of the remaining 7 (excluding Buffalo) playoff teams and potentially all 4 of the teams in championship games - Chiefs - Titans - Bengals - Packers - Rams Quote

They run tons of simulations through their algorithm after all the teams have made their specific schedule requests (lumping west coast games together, dates their stadium won't be available, etc.). They work on it right up until the schedule is released. The Pegulas should get local organization to schedule snow sculpture contest on last two weeks of season so our stadium is unavailable. 😁 Quote

Read the thread where Sal goes into why Hawkins is wrong. i understand the intricate details of how schedule algorithms work. right now they know who teams home and road opponents are right now they are collecting scheduling conflicts such as MLB schedule where teams share stadiums or share the same lots. Some of these sre 1. Stadiums next to each other in seattle, KC, Baltimore, dallas. 2. stadiums that use same lots…Cincinnati. Pittsburgh. 3. events— houston has a Christmas shopping event a weekend between thanksgiving and mid December at facilities next to the stadium. Teams give their stadium for concerts, local and college football ( Florida-Georgia at jacksonville) or MLS teams share stadium ( Seattle). before the even run the algorithm …they set up national games schedule fir Thursday, Sunday, Monday, and certain games for 4:25. these are don first because it makes scheduling easier. If you look at historical national games scheduling there is a pattern… 1-6 divisional match ups from each division. divisional match up games within and between leagues positional matchups because of NY and LA shared stadiums…more games involving those teams will be put in Non Sunday spots. Buffalo at LA game is likely to not be on Sunday afternoon. If it’s on Sunday afternoon it fir es the chargers on road on FOX if not on bye or national TV. playoff and super bowl rematches. For example KC at TB next season. This is a certain national game next year likely on nbc. Buffalo at KC is a certain national game next year. Since all 4 division winners are left in AFC playoffs, the AFC championship rematch will be on national TV. TB-Rams play next year so it will be on as would a LA/TB vs GB rematch next year. a super bowl rematch would be on national TV such as BUF vs GB/Rams Quote
Giuseppe Tognarelli Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Muki Hawkins is an idiot who doesn't even know the difference between "your" and "you're" and yet somehow is a professional reporter. It doesn't surprise me that he confuses "17th game" with week 17. He's even more stupid for not realizing that the 17th game, if it even worked the way he thinks, would actually be week 18. 1 Quote

If the Bills win the Super Bowl they will open the season against the Packers. Week 1 at home on primetime. Rodgers vs Allen. I am assuming Rodgers is staying with GB here. Damn you beat me to it. I kind of think GB is just going to choke again though. Edited January 21, 2022 by Scott7975 Quote

Yeah, the players seem to love answering his questions in press conferences, so I'll give him that, but this is a bad look for sure. Basic stuff. 7 hours ago, ticketssince61 said: If true, would be a bummer as Bills would have games against 5 of the remaining 7 (excluding Buffalo) playoff teams and potentially all 4 of the teams in championship games - Chiefs - Titans - Bengals - Packers - Rams The teams we face are set by the end of the regular season when all of the divisional rankings are finalized. We already know who the opponents are, just not the order of the games. It's not a mystery how the schedule works. It's a rotating schedule with a few of the games determined by divisional standings. The 17th game is a rotating game based on divisional standings as well. Quote
