BuffaloBillies
The browns just went to the super bowl. (although I don't usually like to do that at work)

But you didn't have to give up Tellar and I didn't want to give him up. How great was our guard play then that made it seem like a kid who was showing signs of breaking through his rookie year shouldn't be kept around? RyanC883
well, we certainly passed over a BEVY of talented players during the drought years, so it was time for us to benefit from another teams mistake.
T master
I must say when that draft was coming up i was all about the Bills drafting Baker Mayfield or Josh Rosen & am so glad that Beane is the Bills GM because i would have gotten that so wrong . One thing i do wonder though is because of the Bills history and their lack of developing QB's that they have drafted in the past that had some talent such as Losman, Manuel, Trent & some others could their lack of growth be directly tied to their situation & the coaching involved with them ? I know by changing coaching staffs that surely didn't help Losman, or EJ in their development & i wonder if that could have been some of the problem with Sam & Baker to this point besides Bakers injury this year . mushypeaches
This example just illustrates the problems when ownership meddles or over-involves themselves in player personnel decisions. It's played out countless times across many organizations over the years (including our own far too many times) Let the experts do their jobs - and go count your money and your play toys in the corner somewhere else

I’d assume they still take a Qb, but who? Mayfield or Darnold ... which ever one the Jets did not take ... or maybe they don't trade up hoping one of them falls or we take Rosen. All horrible thoughts

Nihilarian
The Cleveland Browns were locked in on Josh Allen as their #1 overall pick! But then, someone released some tweets hours before the 2018 NFL draft by Allen having made derogatory remarks while in high school. (Wonder who could have done this *cough* *cough*) "ARLINGTON, Texas – Quarterback prospect Josh Allen said he was “deeply sorry” for racially insensitive tweets that surfaced early Thursday, hours before the start of the NFL draft. Allen did not deny sending the tweets, which were reported by Yahoo Sports on Thursday and included racial slurs and other offensive language, when he was in high school." https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2018/04/26/josh-allen-tweets-nfl-draft-2018-first-round/556369002/ Sure didn't stop the Buffalo Bills from trading up in the draft and selecting Josh Allen
Miyagi-Do Karate
I can’t believe people are making fun of the browns. You can write a 300-page long book on the number of colossally stupid player and coaching moves the Bills have made over the last 20 years. There but for the grace of God go I.

Talley56
I seem to recall a number of our very own fans wanted Mayfield over Allen if we had the opportunity.
Orlando Buffalo
I think we also need to thank who ever leaked his tweets with bad words from when he was 16- I think he would have been gone by 7 without that "concern".

Its amazing how we have so many fans on this forum think they can understand individual football player development We can get thrown off the scent during draft the lead up intended for other GMs. Our FO guys are just better. Allen/McDermott/Trey/Milano/Dawkins/Poyer/Hyde etc.. All of this can NOT be planned. It’s the luck of the draw at the time we pick, and the chemistry that becomes of it. It’s the stars lining up, with the right coach at the right time. Forget Teller. He’s good, and he’s also sitting home on the couch watching his team implode, while no name Rick is playing for us at a superb level. .
