The rule is BS and allows for a fat old man to  dictate an outcome.

Dak decided that outcome when he took off on a scramble with 12 seconds on the clock and slid down in bounds.

Rules of spotting the ball don't change because a QB makes an ignorant decision.

If officials can’t spot the ball when the offense is ready, the clock should be stopped until they can. That lard ass should not have moved the ball it meant nothing besides the fact he didn’t know where to spot it anyways.

that's not how it works….

Yea… it was comical… I’m sure the NFL will come out and apologize so all is well as usual.

If it happens to Tampa next week the rule will be changed. I guess two thoughts, it’s unfair and should be changed or that’s how it’s always been and don’t get yourself in that situation.

Magnifies how much if a joke the league can be at times.  The official ran into Dak, knocked him over which probably cost them a second or two and then just announces the games over while running off the field…

Terrible take.  Everyone knows that the official has to spot the ball.  He would of had time if he turned and handed it to the judge running up.

The Judge had to try to get through the line - Dak and the line blocked him - it was 100% their fault.

Additionally Dak and the center tried to spot the ball - you can see the line judge on the outside mark the spot and the judge has to move the ball to the spot.

It was an incredibly stupid play call, but even worse job of Dak and the offense knowing the situation and what must be done.

Fire McCarthy, but don’t blame the NFL or the Refs for Daks mistake.

No *****, I’m saying that is the logical way it should be done. But the NFL loses control of determining an outcome then.

The problem with your way is every time depending on where the ref is the time to spot the ball is different. So the rule is bad it’s not enforced equally in every situation.

The ref absolutely hustled in there and then was blocked by the players to get the ball, not sure what else he’s supposed to do. Cowboys took an incredibly dumb risk there and it blew up in their face. Glad to see it, Cowboys are frauds.

The line judge on the outside marks the ball and was exactly where Dak started his slide.

The official has to mark it based upon where they guy is marking - the offense needed to hand him the ball and let him do his job.  He had the spot to mark it and the clock should not be stopped because why should they get an advantage why they were stupid.

If they have to stop the clock - it should be a 10 second run off - ending the game anyway.

Yes it is, as long as it takes him to get there. Ball is not snapped until he spots it.

Look Dak should have thrown it away, or tried with all his heart to get out of bounds.

It isn't his first game in the NFL and he should have knew the rule if he didnt.

College game has it figured out and it’s not a difficult thing to do. The ref spotting the ball never looked as to where it belonged he just moved it to move it.

This isn’t college and he could see the spotting coming up.  If the Cowboys spot it in the wrong place - shouldn’t he correct it?

There is a reason that we’ll coached teams know that they immediately give the ball to an official.  Every well coached team late in the game with the clock running - look for the officials and get the ball spotted ASAP.

Dak was stupid and compounded the stupidity by not getting the ball to a Ref.

They should not reward stupidity by changing the rules to suit a stupid situation that the offense created,

No matter how many times you say they should.

they don’t change the rules when a team  doesn’t  understand them.

it was a dumb play call and poorly executed.  Refs won’t throw out a simple rule every player and coach knows as one of the most basic of all rules…just to bail out bad play.

you’re making no sense
