Puhonix
Uh oh...my wife just called and told me that the DVDs arrived today! Between that and the Bills, how am I going to make time for the wife and kids?!? 437578 no time for both, gonna have to choose: wife or kids. duey
no time for both, gonna have to choose: wife or kids. 437585 Well, let's see. The wife loves Lost like me, and my 6 year old daughter loves the Bills like me. My 4 week old daughter just poops a lot, so she's a wash. Looks like a family divided. UConn James
In the most recent preview I saw, last night, the opened hatch is shown and a light comes on. Kate's(?) voice saying something's down there, a scream.... There was also a flash on a warning sign that I believe read, "Quarantine." , duey. Outnumbered three to one? Ouch. Someone with Tivo... oh wait, Tivo doesnt get commercials. Ok, First off I dont trust the Producers, they are very very sneaky. They show Kate in the hatch, and the light comes on and she scream. What that tells is that at some point Kate will scream, at some point she will be in the hatch, and at another point, the light will turn on. Though I bet these things don't all occur at once. Clockwork
I got season 1 on DVD a few weeks ago, and watched all of the episodes again. A few things that caught my attention- In the 1st episode, Kate says that she sees smoke and believes it is the cockpit, while they find the cockpit, could this have been the same smoke that the monster eminates? In the 2nd episode, someone says about the "moneter" - "That sound is very familiar", and followed it up by saying she was from the bronx. I thought subway system right away. The way the 'monster' sounds like a mechanical device, like a rollercoaster, is consistant with the subway system in NY. There are a ton of references to black and white. This seems to be a recurring theme - the backgammon, stones found on the bodies of 'Adam and Eve". This coincides with the man of science (Jack), man of Faith (Locke), and how there seems to be an imminent division between the lost-aways. The quote "I think we are going to have a Locke problem" by Jack in the last episode is very telling about where season 2 is going. All that being said, my theory is that the hatch is a place to transport science experiments, perhaps even nuclear and industrial waste on a deserted island, but it comes with a some type of mech that picks up the 'waste', eg. people. The islanders will find that this isn't the only hatch. Thoughts?
Clockwork
Well, that last theory I had is WRONG. There was a screening of the next weeks show last night in Hawaii, and on a few messageboards people have described the first epidose, and what is in the hatch! If anyone really wants to know, PM me! duey
Dont wanna know... I'll take the shock with the rest of us. 441499 Yeah...I agree. After waiting all summer, why would I ruin the surprise with less than a week to go. Puhonix...I'm going to the Jets-Fish game on Sunday. Should I cheer for your boys in teal for you? HA! Not likely! linksfiend
Dude you need a new avatar, twice I've caught myself referring to Hurley as Duey... 422662 That happened to me a couple of days ago too
linksfiend
Seeing as this is a football board, I'm not sure it's appropriate to have 24 threads. Think of it in terms of staying in someone else's house; take up the least amount of room as you can and don't make too much noise. The mods consolidated it to this for a good reason. There's other places on the Net that do exactly what you're looking for, better than we could here (I'd suggest the "Television Without Pity" forums). I see this more as an informal place to ask questions, discuss observations, etc. Making it hardcore....? Nah. 436219 Sorry - I think I agree with geggytah. I liked the format last year with a new thread each week. Then if you wanted to refer back to a point, or refresh yourself on a previous discussion, you didn't need to search through so many pages. The only problem last year was that multiple people started multiple threads for the same week. If we can agree to keep it to one thread per episode, I don't think we're asking for too much space compared to some of the other OT things that go on here. linksfiend
OK - Forgive my string of posts here. Just getting caught up on the last few pages as I'm gearing up for the season premiere. Anyhow, after watching Exodus again the other night, I'm even more confused about this monster/machine. I used to think it was some type of snare that clamped onto Locke and dragged him into the hole by his leg. But after rewatching that scene the other night, I came up with this question -- if it was a snare and chain that latched onto Locke, then why wasn't the end of it still attached to Locke's leg when Kate threw the dynamite down the hole? You would think there would be some sort of remnant still clamped onto his leg if it was a mechanical device.

That really hurts. And if you look at the predicted standings for the AFC East, that hurts you as well. We already gave San Diego a gift in week 1, I thought I'd share the joy in week 2. I'm on a rooftop antenna, tho. I paused the DVD on that scene and it looked kind of... how do you say... vegetative. Jungle Boy Ethan is one of the bad guys on that show as well. 443676 I don't like how Lost is springing up all of these Out-There sci-fi shows. And no, with a mug like that, I wouldn't expect Mr. Maplethorpe to be getting many leading-man hero roles.

Neither team really deserved to win. If you guys had a decent QB, you could have picked the Jets apart. Similarly, had the Jets had a better QB then Average Chad, they would have crushed the Fish. A great day to be outdoors...a very tough game to have to sit through in a place where beer is $7 a cup. Day after tomorrow we start it all over again! PTS
I don't know if this was mentioned but when they went through how everyone got casted for the show and in the original script Sawyer was to be a slick conman from BUFFALO! His script for when he divulged all his background to Kate was... "I was born in Pittsburgh, father died when I was 2, mother when I was 4. Moved to Buffalo, shithole, lived their with my aunt and uncle. She sat around on her ass all day while he ran scams." They could have done without the shithole part though! Lost has turned me on to the SciFi channel and all the great shows they have. Threshold definitely takes aspects of three of my favorite shows ... Lost, The 4400 and Stargate SG-1. The thriller-SciFi shows would be a welcome to all the reality and CSI shows out there.
