They already rejected my Bills Super Bowl seat cushion for the crime of having a zipper on the bottom, and were trying to deny my fanny pack (which had my meds, phone, etc) on the same grounds. When they finally decided to get a supervisor to come over, I held out my pack with a limp wrist and effeminately proclaimed "Are you going to deny a man HIS PURSE?" (purses are allowed), and slung it on my shoulder. This prompted the supervisor to give the staff a dirty look and say "For Pete's sake, let him in". Sounds like you had an over-officious screener. There's always one... I had a similar issue with food once - had to calmly ask them to bring over a supervisor to get it through. Quote
HOUSE Posted January 13, 2022 Author Posted January 13, 2022 I remember a cold weather game when the women in front of me was told, "You can have cigarettes inside the stadium" so she hid them in the bushes rather then walk to her car. People hide stuff everywhere....under a car, inside a tree...its crazy Quote

During cold weather games some people are oblivious to the restrictions. When it is this cold outside season ticket holders will give away tickets and some poor uninformed fan will park in a satellite parking area, walk a half mile just to be told by Security " You can't bring that drone in the stadium" so now starts the trek back to the car (another half mile in zero weather, another half mile back). Now they are ready to re-enter the Stadium, "You can't bring those fireworks inside the stadium" another half mile walk back to the car, another half mile back to the stadium . Its cold, YOU COULD DIE OUT THERE... Security will not hold any restricted items for you... So.....Be a good sport and leave your rod at home.... Please read, you can thank me later PROHIBITED ITEMS Battery operated clothing (socks, jackets, etc.) Tobacco products - including cigarettes/electronic cigarettes, chewing tobacco, lighters/matches Drones, Unmanned Aircraft Devices Alcoholic beverages, illegal substances Animals (with the exception of service animals for guests with disabilities) Clutch bags not to exceed 4.5" x 6.5" Beach balls, footballs, balls, inflatable devices (balloons) Bottles, cans, thermoses, and other beverage containers Cameras with lenses longer than six (6) inches Clothing or material with profane language or obscene graphics Fireworks Headwear or clothing that may impede the view of guests Laptop computers, radios Laser pointer devices, noisemakers Promotional materials not approved by the Bills Seat cushions larger than 15" x 15" or that contain armrests, zippers, pockets, flaps or metal backs Selfie sticks, sticks or poles Strollers Umbrellas Video cameras, monopods and tripods Weapons (knives, box-cutters, firearms, etc.) Any other item deemed dangerous or inappropriate PERMITTED ITEMS The NFL bag policy limits the size and type of bags that can be brought into the facility. This policy was put in place to enhance public safety and expedite fan entry at Highmark Stadium. Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12", or One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar), or Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand (4 ½" x 6 ½"), with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options. Seat cushions must not exceed 15" x 15" and must not contain arm rests, zippers, pockets, flaps or metal backs. Additional clothing and blankets (must be carried loosely) Binoculars Cameras with lenses shorter than six (6) inches iPads and tablet devices https://www.buffalobills.com/stadium/gate-entry-and-permitted-items Lol this while post is clearly just to point out two types of items that are obviously prohibited and the how funny it is they even have to mention it. No sensible person would think it's ok to bring drones or fireworks into a stadium. Side note tho...my heated gloves and socks better be allowed in. They are battery powered but so tf what. Single degree weather should be enough for security to allow harmless warming items in. 1 Quote

What was your issue with food? I'm actually not positive about food rules, because I saw them listed in the family section and wasn't sure when my friend asked about being able to bring food in. We just ate right before going in. 14 minutes ago, HOUSE said: I remember a cold weather game when the women in front of me was told, "You can have cigarettes inside the stadium" so she hid them in the bushes rather then walk to her car. I repeatedly told him to leave them in the car, but he was adamant about bringing them in. He had no intention of smoking them, and didn't even want them to be able to light one up on the walk back to the car after the game, he just had some weird agenda about having them on him. I even suggested ways to hide them, but nope he had some sort of weird point to make? Quote

I have battery powered socks and a balaclava and think I'm just gonna toss the batteries in a spare set of gloves/hat and put it in my clear bag for entry. The fact that you can bring in a cell phone (same type of battery) but not warming clothing, especially for this game, is ridiculous and borderline negligent. I'm guessing that the issue is the wiring and the power supply. To you it's ridiculous and borderline negligent, but to a security guard tasked with making sure IEDs don't get inside the stadium, he doesn't have time to trace the wiring and ensure that it's just for warmth, and not connected to plastic explosive - and if he makes a mistake HE'S negligent. It's easier to just say "no battery powered clothing", and easier if fans respect the restriction and don't decide they need not respect regulations that they find stupid. 1 1 Quote

It always seems to help if you have somebody to blame. 3 Quote

You should be good with the battery powered socks..........they will run the metal wand over your shoes/boots and assume it's the grommets on the shoes/boots tripping the alarm. @Captain Caveman I'd suggest loosening your boots and sliding them in there. If they find metal on you above the shoes they are likely to get pinched. 1 Quote

947 Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Not allowing batteries is likely so fans can't take them out & throw them onto the field. There's been a few incidents involving players getting with a battery when walking off the field, Cleveland was one of them. 1 Quote
Albany,n.y. Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 What's with no radios? They used to have 2 radio broadcast so that fans could listen to the game from their seats in real time while the traditional broadcast was in synch with the TV broadcast. I used to bring a radio into the stadium & listen to it during the game when I had seasons. 1 Quote

Besides, I can barely hear myself think much less hear a radio when the Bills are on defense. Quote

There's no rule against rocks (and depending on the rock it's not getting flagged in the metal detector.) I've hear people speculate that it's due to the fire risk of batteries, but again I've been able to bring in battery power packs / handwarmers, so not sure if that's it (or if it was just missed.) I was wondering if it's just due too the difficulty of getting clothing with batteries sewn into it through metal detectors. 1 Quote
