freddyjj Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 In the 6 games vs Playoff Qualifiers the Bill record was 2-4, Avg Margin of Defeat in 4 losses was 5 points, Avg Margin of Victory in 2 wins was 15 points. Buffalo Defense gave up 145 points in 6 games (24.17 ppg) vs 2021 Playoff qualifiers (Pats 2x, PIT, TEN, KC, TAM). D gave up 144 total points in 11 other games (13 ppg). Buffalo Offense scored 155 points in 6 games (25.83 ppg) vs 2021 Playoff qualifiers (Pats 2x, PIT, TEN, KC, TAM). They scored 328 pints in 11 other games (29.8 ppg). Josh in the 6 games vs Playoff Qualifiers, averaged 284 YPG passing, 6 game totals 10 Passing TDs, 2 INTs. 2 Rushing TDs. Bills were 0-2 at Home and 2-2 on the road in the 6 games vs Playoff Qualifiers. Both Bills wins were on the Road! My takeaways: Josh is not the reason Bills lost these games. Our D was a liability vs TEN, TAM 1st half and 1st NE game. Bills played well enough to win in all but PIT loss And a throwaway: Buffalo Defense finished with 42 sacks, with 14 of them (1/3 of total for season) occurring in last 2 games vs Falcons and Jets. Getting better or weak opposition? Quote
Saxum Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 My take: teams which are playoff qualifiers are better than teams which are not. Except Jacksonsville who just likes to play well against good teams. I think it is British influence. 2 Quote

Getting better or weak opposition? The Bengals played it smart, losing to avoid playing KC and know the Titans are a weak top seed 1 Quote

Getting better or weak opposition? I say consider the opposition. Teams, of course, all beef up stats vs weaker teams. Quote

Bills could have purposely lost to Jets if they already knew the Pats lost. Bengals had the luxury of resting players, but probably more about the rest than the opponent. Quote
