May Day 10 Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 High-end WR seems like a position that you are best served getting through the draft for the most part with few exceptions. Even the Diggs trade is debatable. I love the guy and he couldnt have done better, but Justin Jefferson on a rookie deal would have been fantastic as well. Quote

That's the most hindsight comment I've ever seen. Yes, but we all know that the draft is a literal crapshoot. JJ could have came here and been average then you'd be pounding the table for Diggs. WR are missed SO much in the draft, look at Denver, Raiders, Philly, etc the last few years. 1 Quote
BobChalmers Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 (edited) Gabe Davis is going to look amazing on the other side of Diggs. Wasting money/time on Emmanuel Sanders was one of Beane's worst moves of the season (and he's had a few stinkers). This team is desperate need of interior OL and doesn't have that much cap - spending money on WR would be unfortunate. Edited January 6, 2022 by BobChalmers 2 Quote

Maybe he's worth it, but that would be hard for the Bills to fit. They could sure use him. I'm a bit worried about his mental health issues. Are they real? Are they temporary? Whatever he's going through, they'd need a real degree of certainty to make a move like this in a year when they've got limited resources. I doubt it, but it would be interesting. Did this year count for him or will he still be on year 3 next season? Quote

We can't afford him and we want to keep a good team in tack around Josh so we can be a fixture in the AFC playoffs for years to come. Where would he play? Are you taking Davis off the field? I wouldn't do that he is a stud and every time he is on the field he makes plays. If you bring in Calvin what are you saying to Davis that he isn't good enough? If we keep bringing in other receivers then when Davis's contract is up he will no doubt walk and then what does that leave us. We have to take care of our own. I say don't even bother with Calvin and build within. I hope we don't bring in anyone else next year and give that job to Davis hands down. I am very happy with Diggs, Davis, and McKenzie as our top three...Beasley is still under contract next year we can use him draft another late rounder and go from there. I also think we will see more from Stephenson next year so lets see what we got with him too. We have a great foundation for longevity here lets not chase guys. I mostly agree with you. Obviously no Calvin. Even let Sanders go and promote Davis - he's a Bill vet who is ready. Where I disagree with you is I think the Bills should add through the draft another WR to develop. So Davis takes Sanders role and a draftee is taken for the vacated developmental spot previously had by Davis. Cole will probably be here another year, and McK looks like he should be integrated more into the offense already. The process is working in the WR room. No need to panic there. I would rather see the resources in terms of a good vet go to another TE or CB. Quote

Or the fact that a franchise guy that spent his whole career with a team and with his QB that was also drafted there wanted out. Don't know how much clearer it can get. Things aren't good there. Demanding trade is a little better then quitting though. ill give Julio that. Quote

Da webster guy Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 I think our challenge isnt guys getting separation and catching the ball. We have plenty of those guys. Quote
Jay_Fixit Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Buffalo has future stud Gabe Davis. I think they’re good. Quote
Chicken Boo Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 I wouldn't pay Ridley the money that he's going to command. I'm all for giving Gabe and Isaiah more playing time. Quote
JoshAllin Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 With the ups and down that transpired this season I don't think it would be a good fit for anyone with mental health issues. Plus I still think the WR's for the bills are one of the tops in the league Quote

He wanted to work on his mental health, so he stepped away instead of doing the Antonio Brown, etc etc. I actually think that shows maturity more than anything or am I missing something? If you walked away once nothing slowing you down form doing it again. Bills also have a bad history of signing guys like that and having that happen. Quote

Alphadawg7 Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 For the sake of Ridley, hope he gets what he needs if he is dealing with mental health issues still. And if that means a change of scenery, then so be it. And for those making a case for him to come here...thats a big NO from me. And not even really because of the mental health struggles. Its because Davis has been very good opposite Diggs, we don't need to invest heavy in another WR. We need to focus cap space on other weaknesses on the roster. 1 Quote
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Rule #1 of being a GM in a salary cap league is don't spend capital on productivity that you already have in reserve. Beane is a smart guy and knows that Gabe Davis on his rookie deal will be a 1,000 yard receiver next year. 1 Quote
JakeFrommStateFarm Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 I live in the Atl area and trust me when I tell you you want no part of this headcase Quote

Laqoun Treadwell is finally getting some playing time in JAX. How many years has he been doing nothing in the league? Former 1st round pick IIRC. 1 Quote
