I doubt it will. The top talent will always go to the NFL. Between the USFL and XFL both leagues will get players who couldn't make it in the NFL.

They'll never have the talent level of the NFL, but the games can still be entertaining to watch. I think if this league can survive, they can figure out how to make it better. I'm all for having spring football. I hate baseball, and I'm not a huge NBA or hockey fan (unless the Sabres are good) so I'm all about a good spring football league

I just don't see it catching on. I hope it does well as it would shorten the long NFL offseason with more football. I just think sports fans are mostly creatures of habit. They want football in the fall with the NFL and CFB. After the Super Bowl then the NBA/NHL take over especially during the playoffs. Then spring and summer is MLB's time to have center stage. At the end of summer fans are ready for football again.

I think this is the farthest one of these new leagues has made it. Whether it happens, we'll see, but at least they have a commitment from the networks. Can the XFL repeat the USFL's success....

XFL is backed by ESPN/ABC. (Which explains why ESPN ignores the USFL.)

The USFL Championship game is this Sunday at 7:30 on Fox. Fun fact: the Stars have appeared in every USFL Championship game, winning it twice.

Interesting. I'll be watching.

Glad to see the USFL will have a 2nd season. Hopefully teams can play games at home next year. I live about 20 minutes from MetLife so I will definitely go to a Generals game if they are playing there.

How many of those make the actual 53?

Obviously that can't be answered until rosters are set, but that isn't the point. Spring football is now a legit path to an NFL camp. It's a second chance for players who didn't get a look out of college or washed out of a previous NFL camp.

Let's see how long it actually lasts.

Any on the Bills?

This is a good sign for the USFL. If they get just one success story, I'm sure they'll promote the hell out of it next season. There's always someone out there like a Fred Jackson who's willing to grind it out and they eventually make their respective teams/fans very happy.

There's definitely a pattern. These USFL signees went more to bad teams. Which I guess makes sense. What team do you have a shot at making?

Only 4 teams have not signed a USFL player. That includes the Bills.

I am SO DONE with this team!
