But some head coaches are more involved in drafting and bringing in personnel than others. Maybe Flores has been super vocal on the specific players he wanted and the GM can say "hey, I gave him the guys he wanted." Not sure, but it is plausible. Edited January 10, 2022 by MJS Quote

I can not envision any coach pounding the table demanding Tua being drafted. He was damaged goods. We may never know. So good point by you. Quote

Tua is no franchise quarterback, but I think the flip flopping there killed any confidence he had. Wat? The Dolphins won 7 of their last 8. Tua looked pretty confident there. 1 Quote

34-78-83 Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Maybe removing Flores allows the GM to pull in more of a scumbag coach who will be fine with bringing Watson (if all the 24 allegations are true) on board to the team? Quote

Plus, do any of these QBs think about going to and winning Super Bowls? All you hear is that guys like Rodgers and Watson want to join the stacked AFC divisions. Why not go/stay in the NFC where there are like 3 legitimately good teams? AFC West alone has 3 good teams if Rodgers goes to Denver, plus the Raiders are plucky. 1 Quote

Leave that to go to face Mahomes, Herbert and Carr??? Get out of here. 1 Quote

Their schemes aren’t as different as they look on the surface. They’re philosophically very similar (limit big plays and force mistakes), especially with the backend where there’s a lot of disguised zone coverages. The big difference in the secondary is McD/Frazier use more robber and cover 3 than Fangio. Front seven is where the bigger differences are seen. Fangio likes to have 1-2 D linemen 2-gap and free up linebackers to make plays…. However, neither are big Blitzers and love to simulate A gap pressure with safeties and linebackers in 43 under and nickel. Fangio though tends to cater the front seven scheme to available personnel though, so he’d adapt if he had to. I think McD and Fangio could blend their defenses together pretty easily. I doubt that Fangio comes here though. It’s more likely that he latches on with an offensive HC to maintain autonomy, and he didn’t screw the pooch enough to need a career “reset”. Quote
JohnBonhamRocks Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Any other defensive firings match our scheme for potential Frazier replacements? Quote
