Could McD be (unintentionally) sabotaging the OLine by refusing to give Bates a shot??

The Turkster, you know I like you’re takes often, but no.  McD is not sabotaging his line with thinking he needs to keep Bates in the back pocket.  If he thinks he’s the best fit, hes in.  I’ll agree, miss was not a better go to than Singletary as our feature back.  Bates should see some time the rest of the year.  Ford is not going in if these guys can keep that from happening.

My WAG, is it’s Dawkins, Feliciano, Morse, Williams, and Brown.  Bates is shot in at a heart beat if there is a problem.  If anyone has some nagging injuries and we are getting up on an opponent the next two weeks, Bates could go in at any of the five positions.

Knew you were a SW FL guy when posting this song.  Reminds me of the newer Star Trek movies as was in two of them.  Lovin the old Beastie Boys.

How did you find that video of me?

Really stuck The landing too

Unfortunately, not according to the Canadian judges. You just  can’t trust them!

They don’t know true art!

EDIT: To get to the point of the thread, “sabotage” means to deliberately destroy something. No coach, who wasn’t looking to get fired, would do such a thing. Ever. Find another way to make the argument. Maybe he misplaced his priorities? Sabotage makes zero sense.

McD is on record as saying he likes having Bates as a backup in case something happens to the starters because he can play every position on the line...

But that versatility is the the reason why he hasn't gotten a shot in the lineup...which is frustrating because the OLine might have played their best game of the year against the Pats with him in there.

So essentially, Bates could be a missing piece of the puzzle to the OLine issues but we will never find out because once Ford/Feliciano are back and ready to play, Bates goes to the bench because he is "too valuable to lose".

WTF kind of logic is that?

When we see who plays next week, and how well they play, it'll be worth talking about.

I find it hard to believe that a high school coach would sabotage a game let alone an NFL one

Every coach keeps a backup center.  Some teams have the luxury of two backup players that can play center.  The Bills do if Feliciano is active.  When Feliciano is starting at guard, or out on injury/Covid that leaves Bates as the backup to Morse.

I wonder if the thread is a veiled attempt at auditioning for the hot takes of WGR's 'The Late Show'.
