The Jacksonville Jaguars are the first known team to take advantage of the early interview window provided to clubs in search of a coach, and they're moving in multiple directions. The club, which dismissed Urban Meyer earlier this season, has requested permission to interview six NFL coordinators: Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and defensive coordinator Todd Bowles; Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn; Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus; and Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the requests for Leftwich, Quinn, Eberflus and Hackett, while NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the request for Moore, and NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported the request for Bowles. The club also has shown interest in former Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson and former Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell. Per Pelissero, Pederson's interview is expected to happen this week. Ya Digg? Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 I’m a little confused as to why they opened up an earlier window for this to start. These coordinators can’t interview right now anyway 1 Quote

They will cast a wide net before making a horrible choice. 2 Quote
MiltonWaddams Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 The Jaguars need a culture changer. I can’t say without question that any of the coordinators are exactly that, but Eberflus is the one that I see as being the closest thing. Time will tell, but undoubtedly they won’t pick him. Quote
patzen Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 I've heard Urban Meyer is available. He takes a real hands on approach. He might be able to finally kick that organization in the right direction. 2 1 Quote

I'm Spartacus Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Wonder if Alex Van Pelt is still available? Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 (edited) Yeh was going to say Kellen Moore but doubt he leaves Dallas…Pederson has a super bowl ring and brings immediate credibility to the locker room so I’d say him Edited December 29, 2021 by 78thealltimegreat Quote
FLFan Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Looks like the Bills performance against the Jags probably took Daboll out of any consideration, as it should have. Quote
Buffalo716 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Hackett was always trashed on message boards but he was severely handicapped by his QB play People in the game thought he was one of the youngest Brightest minds in the game coming up He made Jeff tuel look serviceable Quote

I actually think Pederson is the right coach for the job. Hackett would be a train wreck and was actually fired as OC years earlier under Marrone. The one interesting candidate is Leftwhich IMO Quote
stuvian Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Always like Jim Caldwell but Doug Pederson has a shiny ring Quote
