Andrew Son Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 I'm sure the NFL will jump at any way to get players back sooner 7 Quote
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Thought I read 7 days, but either way would/could change things. Beasley should make the 10 day window anyway by Friday/Saturday Quote
Steptide Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Just posted something similar in the thread about the jags. Have to imagine the NFL follows suite. This is actually a really good thing imo Quote
Mat68 Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 The NFL protocol is collective bargained. Any change would have to be agreed upon. 2 Quote

Mango Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 I think the NFL wants to be vaxed and won’t do much to de-incentivize getting the shot. I bet they stick to 10 days for the rest of the regular season and go to 5 for the playoffs. 1 Quote

jethro_tull Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 hope so. most of the cases are Omicron variant which has cold like symptoms so far. bad news it spreads like wildfire. the teams that can avoid infection will have an advantage the rest of the way. 1 Quote

NEBranch Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Hopefully Judon didn't pass it on because that timing probably still won't work out well enough. Quote

JakeFrommStateFarm Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Is that whether you are vaccinated or unvaccinated? Quote
f0neguy Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 I would think the NFLPA wants the players back as quickly as possible. The more games they play the more likely they make individual bonuses. Some of these are big money, I believe Poyer picked up $500,000 with his 5 interceptions, these guys want to play. Quote

They will continue to go off their own data. For example, they said 10 days isolation while I believe the CDC was still saying 14 days. They said 5 days for an unvaccinated close contact while I think the CDC was still saying more. I'm not saying the NFL wouldn't like to consider this, but since reportedly 95% of the players are vaccinated and asymptomatic vaccinated players are currently not being tested routinely at all, the NFL's current protocols are effectively already more aggressive than this. 2) there's this from the same source: "if asymptomatic" So currently in the NFL, asymptomatic players with covid are isolating for 0 days Symptomatic players can come back as soon as their symptoms clear and they test negative, or positive with a Ct >35, which theoretically could be less than 5 days. Matt_In_NH Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 The chances the nfl changes the rules is small IMO. But it is Covid and things can change at a moments notice. They are almost to the end though. I could see different rules for post season maybe. Quote
