Bad Things Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 I've lived in 3 or 4 different regions of the US before moving overseas in 2005. I can easily say that Jerry Sullivan is the worst sports writer that I've encountered on my journeys. There were other hacks, but I have never read a more negative/douchie writer in my 52 years on God's green earth. It's a shame that we're all spending time talking about him now in 2021. (He should be purged from our memories like all the rest of the crap from the drought years.) 3 1 1 Quote
Milanos Milano Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 I’m glad we have Jerry Sullivan here. Sometimes it’s needed to be an *** to light a fire under underperforming teams. The goal is to win a super bowl, and I’m glad there are people out there that expect it and keep that standard. 2 1 Quote

Jerry Sullivan lights a fire under the Bills ass as much as John Warwow validates the team emotionally. Edited December 28, 2021 by Motorin' 1 Quote
BRH Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 (edited) I’ve blocked him on Twitter for a long time. Unblocked him for a couple of weeks. Realized why I blocked him. Blocked him again. Bruce Smith yelled at him 25 years ago and the rest of us are still paying for it. Edited December 28, 2021 by BRH 1 Quote
Breakout Squad Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 I don’t think they need a reporter demoted to the Niagara Gazette to influence their gravitas, but if a disgruntled local reporter can light that fire I’m ok with that Quote

Sherlock Holmes Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Hopefully Poyer gives Sully the Diggs SMFD response after the next home game... Quote
Warcodered Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Isn't this the guy that complained about the food in the press box and turned out to be completely full of *****? 1 Quote

Nobody really actually gives a ***** about what you do… because you’re an insufferable prick, Jerry. Thank you. What a narcissistic response by Sullivan. He thinks the world revolves around him. Poyer and Hyde literally made him look like the biggest loser, and all Sullivan has is the biggest reach of a comment ever. Like really? Are you subtexting that Poyer is dumb because he doesn't know your schedule? Did you really try to correct him there? Like that's the big picture of what's going on here? Then that weird flex, that others mentioned. Like it's some sort of compliment that Bruce once insulted him. And then adds the pettiest adolescent insult ever insinuating that the defense stinks and the team is all Allen. Dead wrong by the way. Sullivan is a complete and total irredeemable a-hole. I am beyond blissful that the Bills winning has exposed him and his phony "realism" that masks his true ill-spirited nature. A man that survives on keeping others down by finding that darkness on a bright day. The definition of a parasite. I speak with all my heart when I say that Jerry Sullivan is the biggest loser in Buffalo. And I'll say something that would make him shudder some more: he's NOWHERE near as smart as he thinks he is, or his fans think that they are. He serves no purpose in this city and needs to be shuttled off to Siberia. 2 Quote

Yep, that was Jerry Sullivan 2 Quote
Ray Stonada Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 When Bruce was released by the Bills (the same day as Thurman and Andre Reed, terrible day in team history), Sullivan wrote an hateful character assassination column about Bruce for the BN. It sounded like Bruce was his bully in high school. That was his way of marking the career of Buffalo’s greatest ever defensive player. A narcissistic, deeply petty and, worst of all, boring writer. 3 Quote

He is the kind of guy who could find a dark cloud on the horizon even on the sunniest day. I wouldn't want him for a friend. I wouldn't want him for a neighbor. And I didn't bother to read his articles when he was at the BN because they contained no news, no new insights, no useful information. They were just the opinion pieces of, to borrow Bruce's term, "a little punk ass." His opinion meant nothing to me. 2 Quote

Most sports journalism or talk is pure opinion.. check Colin cowherd or Skip Bayless or Tim cowlishaw or woody Paige .. it's all opinion The fact is he's one of the few AP sports writers in Buffalo And he held the head roll at the news for a long time.. looking back he actually was right a lot more than he was wrong.. because when the bills sucked he said it But Jerry Sullivan wins when NFL players say his name not vice versa.. poyer should give it up because he's way more important than Jerry Sullivan.. he only gives Jerry importance when he talks about him Edited December 28, 2021 by Buffalo716 Quote

Governor Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 I like writers that keep it real. The defense isn’t SB quality. We look a lot like the early 2000 Colts and they needed to face a really bad SB opponent to finally get it done. We would need to score 35 points in that game to win. Their “softness” is likely what irks him the most. It’s pretty tortuous to watch. Quote

eball Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 (edited) I wonder if any Boston hack asked Matt Judon after the game if he was “embarrassed” the Bills didn’t punt? No, of course they didn’t, because it’s a douchey question. Sully still doesn’t get it after all these years. If you’re a little weasel with no credibility and you insult professional athletes they aren’t going to take kindly to it. 7 hours ago, Buffalo716 said: But Jerry Sullivan wins when NFL players say his name What exactly did he win? He lost his job at the Buffalo News, for crissake, and is at a rag called the Niagara freaking Gazette. Did he get a few Twitter hits? I hear the Gazette pays an extra $.05 per retweet. His "wins" are short-sighted. He's on a path of self-destruction. And it couldn't happen to a better guy. He's a parasite, so of course he was "more right than wrong" during the drought years. That's how he got away with his behavior for so long. Now that we have a winning franchise, Sullivan is exposed for what he is. Don't be fooled into thinking he's got some special insight into the team or football or sports for that matter. He's a classic gaslighting narcissist. Very dangerous people. 1 Quote
