All I remember was him getting the wind knocked out of him once when he landed on the ball.

McKenzie hung on to the ball and did a frontside plant on the turf, winded himself for a first down

Kumerow put a forearm down to break his fall and lost the TD

Who was the CB McKenzie climbed over to make that incredible 4th quarter catch? Looked like a 5'8" AJ Green on that play.

LOL he says he can dunk

It's not inconceivable, so can Beasley

I've been screaming it all year, where is 19? Dude is electric. He belongs on KR/PR too.

I just watched Cover1's Film Room on the Pats game.

They commented, and you could really see - where there were times McKenzie made a reception and turned on the afterburners to gain those extra YAC.  Beasley would have made a good catch and gotten a few yards.

That is incorrect.

Beasley has a $7.6M cap hit in 2022.......but that becomes only a $1.5M dead cap if released after this season but prior to the start of the new league year.

Given the distraction he's been........and yes, you likely don't run up around $100k in protocol violation fines without irritating management.........and his ghastly ypc production this year...........I'd say it's better than 50/50 he's slated for dismissal soon after the season.

Badol has it right.  Beasley received substantial guaranteed money when he signed here, including his first 2 years salary and part of this year's salary.

But per Overthecap he has no guaranteed salary next season, and only $1.5M in amortized signing bonus that would be charged to 2022.

I was shocked that Belichek didn't adjust at halftime and start sending more pressure. He played it this way last year too, and we swept them.

I think the problem with his philosophy is that it doesn't account for how good of a thrower Josh has become in the last two years. Typically, Belichek takes away the most dangerous weapon of the opposing offense and makes someone else beat them. He's been successful containing Josh in the pocket, but it doesn't account for him throwing the ball all over the field.

Their approach is fundamentally flawed and he's going to have to go back to the drawing board on how to try to defend us going forward.

You might enjoy watching the Cover1 Film room thing.

One of the points they made - and they were persuasive in illustrating them - is that the Patriots often did have a sound defensive call, and in fact "won the play" with their coverage and pressure.

Then Josh happened.  Sidearm deliveries around a leaping LB in his face, making a jump throw, forcing the defender to move up to defend against a possible QB run then passing over his head or just making a ridiculous pinpoint throw, that incredible juke for the big run gain on 4th down, etc etc.

Just clipboard-throwing "that f****** guy!" stuff

Other times of course, their coverage was inexplicable.  For example, initially they just didn't bother to cover McKenzie or Singletary - partly wagering on Josh simply not taking these throws, which, if it's a tendency I can see, Bellycheat can most certainly see.  But after Josh in fact took those throws and took them promptly so they went for a good gain, you'd have thought they might have made an adjustment.

Or not - maybe it was outsmarting himself with what normally works.  "So that lil' guy caught a couple, we're not going to shift coverage to him and leave Diggs or Sanders open, that's exactly what the Bills want.  He's the backup, he was even benched when we played them before, it's not like he's not gonna keep making those catches."

The issue with these micro sized slot guys as that they are constantly dinged up. Opportunities will present themselves for both to see snaps the rest of the year.

The issue with Beasley is he stays on the field when he's dinged up, and the Bills training staff and coaches OK this.

So McKenzie seldom or never gets his chance.  Just in the final game last year.

Yeah that was interesting to see those throws he made slowed way down. Jaw dropping, really. It seems that Belichek was trying to keep up, but Josh was on fire.

It also showed what a great game Singletary had. Didn't try to do too much, but when he got the ball he moved with a purpose.
