boater Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 It's the second non-contact injury to end a players season, and likely cut into next season as well. Sucks. Can non-contact injuries be prevented? Maybe better conditioning? Or is it just bad luck? Quote
Freddie's Dead Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 Heal up Ike, we'll see you next year. Hope it ends better for you than it did for Takeo Spikes. Quote

BuffaloBill Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 Terrible for him - It will be hard to come back from if it is, in fact, torn Quote
Nextmanup Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 This is going to be a big time injury with huge amounts of down time. The OL situation just got that much more strained. Quote

I ate an extra helping of Xmas dinner. just to be ready in case I was needed for the line. 6’5”, 242lbs is 4 pounds closer than I was Xmas morning. 1 Quote

I think the non contact is bad luck, it seems (without looking) the Bills have been really lucky with injuries during the McBeane era. If anyone else has any insight, I'd be interested in hearing that. Quote
MrEpsYtown Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 I feel terrible for Ike man. Get well soon man. Quote

Helpmenow Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 My cousin might be on the roster promoted from PS. He plays OL 1 3 Quote

How likely is it that guys come back from it? Think a lineman can get away with it a little more as not as much running. But he'll be lucky if he can play next season at all at a high NFL level. I tore mine about 25 years ago, about 3 months after Dan Marino did his. Recalled how Marino described it "thought someone kicked him in the back of the ankle" As soon as I did mine based on Marino's description I stated that's what happened and the people I was with nuts, "you just sprained and ankle they said". But was torn. 4 months later have a picture of me walking down the Mt Van Hovenberg bobsled run using one crutch for extra support. Quote
muppy Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 I have direct knowledge in regarding achilles tear. Hubby tore his with only the sheath holding the tendon in his calf...surgery, rehab and his calf never recovered to same size but he's no pro athlete. It depends on the injury the solution is pretty clear cut. He will have the best medical care available. God Speed Recovery. Quote

Too soon to complain about Wyatt Teller? Two things that still really bother me…trading Teller and drafting Zay Jones instead of Cooper Kupp. Just hard to get over. I like Ike Boettger a lot, but this really puts his career in a weird place. I bet they go after Brandon Scherff or Andrew Norwell. Get well soon Ike. Quote

Big Turk Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 James Robinson of the Jags also tore his Achilles today...tough one, good player for them. Quote
