Not many cities have that kind of nightlife every night. Well...as a former club DJ for 8+ years in a wide variety of places, I disagree. Any decently sized city will have the "place to be" on any given night that will be packed...not sure how that would be during COVID times, but that was definitely true before then. 1 3 Quote

Cincy is an extremely fun city if you are downtown or in Covington, KY just across the river. I’m headed to Jungle Jim’s next week, the best grocery store on earth. Dude, it would be like wondering why people who live in Buffalo go to West Seneca. It's literally a suburb of Cinci that you get to by driving over a bridge across the river. Cincinnati's airport is in Kentucky and a lot of people work across state lines that live in Cinci. Going there is commonplace. Edited December 23, 2021 by Big Turk 1 Quote

SirAndrew Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 As someone who grow up in a small town, I’ll never the crowd who says a city has nothing to do. I think you need to look at yourself that point. Quote

The nightlife is fine considering the size of the city. Sure, it's not NY, LA or Chicago but it matches up well with similarly sized city's. Heck, the downtown casino is pretty nice and there are a lot of music venues. Now to be fair I'm a bit old to properly comment on the type of entertainment options appealing to the twenty something demographic. But I can't imagine it isn't on par with most NFL cities. To be fair you're also not a 20 year old celebrity, millionaire. I don't think Burrow is looking for a place to throw darts and have a few pitchers of import. 1 Quote

Do they have bars, restaurants and nightclubs , yep same as every other place. Brother, this is so NOT true! Spend some time in Seoul, Korea, or Paris, France, and tell me they're the same as Buffalo. The historical, cultural, gastronomical, musical, and sexual divide is enormous. Just domestically speaking, there's a world of difference between LA or NY and Cincinatti. I lived in San Francisco for 6 years and never got bored. I've lived in KC for 6 months and already feel like I'm running out of things to do. Cinci and Buffalo are great towns in their own right. But neither has a fraction of the activities and offerings of the best metros of the world. Edited December 23, 2021 by hondo in seattle 1 1 Quote

Sometimes you just gotta look a little harder. This is true. It's actually something I tell my kids. But some cities are far, far more interesting than other cities. If I lived in Utica, I'd spend a lot of time running, reading, and doing other things I enjoy. But if I lived in Rome (the one in Italy, not the one down the road from you), I'd be out exploring the great restaurants, museums, historical sites, and all the other attractions. Quote

I spent my college years in Cincinnati, and before the pandemic I’d still go back once a year for a Xavier basketball game every year and to meet up with old friends. The Over the Rhine area used to be dangerous, but it’s hopping now with all kinds of breweries and bars. They are packed with 20-somethings having a great time. Across the river there are some great options. I still like the character of Mt Adams, Hyde Park and Mt Lookout. No, it’s not Miami, NYC or LA, but there are only a handful of those cities in the country. It’s not Green Bay, either. . Edited December 23, 2021 by Augie 1 1 Quote

billsfan_34 Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 NFL players can be such whiney *****! Awe nothing to do? Spend a year in Iraq, 6 months out to sea etc…Joe, you make enough money to take vacations, road trips, etc and surely Cinci cannot be all that bad. Try Havelock, NC. Now STFU AND PLAY FOOTBALL. I don’t get the mentality. Cincinnati certainly isn’t NY, but that’s much different than “nothing to do”. Comparing mega cities to smaller cities are apples to oranges comparisons, but it’s not the same as nothing to do. 1 Quote
Straight Hucklebuck Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I’ve lived in Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, what is there to do in any of them? Indianapolis is relatively tiny and isolated, I’ve been to Lambeau, the town is like Springville. When people say there is nothing to do what do they want to do? If it’s just eating at restaurants you can do that anywhere. Denver has stuff to do because it’s sunny year round, you have mountains, skiing, and the city is larger. Are there great things to do in Jacksonville? I guess my point is, outside of the big cities, LA, NYC, Miami, Houston, Chicago, maybe Phoenix or Philadelphia, what is there to do in many NFL cities? Minnesota is frozen half the year worse than WNY. 1 Quote

Dumb comment on Burrow's part. I think you’re right, it’s more of a status thing than an actual statement on a city having nothing to do. These guys want the LA or Miami scene for status. Little do they know that most of the grown up world is discovering life can be awesome outside of LA, NY, and Miami, and are actually leaving those areas in droves. The coastal cities aren’t as hip as they once were, but maybe they still are in the jock world, idk. 1 minute ago, Straight Hucklebuck said: I’ve lived in Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, what is there to do in any of them?
