There's never going to be a solution in regards to officiating that appeases everyone.

And even if they bring back the rule to challenge pass interference in terms of both missed calls and calls that should have never happened it ultimately boils down to the refs discretion and what they believe they are seeing.

Also buried in the article:

The NFL decided to formalize this process after its spontaneous and successful implementation two years ago during the second half kick off of the Bills @ Texans wild card game.  Commissioner Roger Goodell comments: "In the heat of the moment we saw an opportunity to assist one of league's rising stars at that time, Deshaun Watson, and the man with biggest heart in the NFL (not due to any juicing), JJ Watt. This gives us another tool to protect The Shield from blowback from any fanbases that might feel slighted by the narrative the league is trying to tell." Goodell then wiped his ass with hundred dollar bills and concluded the Zoom call.

Oh yeah.  Pry should've included that.

This.  They’re on the right track.  Just keep improving on this idea….if they truly want to fix their broken officiating.  Problem is, it might not be broken in their eyes. This might be exactly where they want it

They want it as vague and non-transparent as possible.

For reasons like "just give it to 'em"

Yeah man.  Let’s go back to the time where great technology didn’t exist…..while it exists.  Maybe you should cancel your cell phone service and start watching movies on your beta player too.

There is technology that can make officiating sporting events much improved.  It just costs money and a desire to improve it.  The nfl has billions.  It just has zero desire to improve it, as they continue to prove

Actually they just used this fast replay system in the Washington Philly game to overturn an Int in about 20 seconds

Wonder if they will further expand this fast system next season much further?

Maybe that is the answer if it's not so obvious that it can be overturned in less than a half minute, but instead  takes 3 to 4 minutes to review and decide on a call, then just let it stand as called on field.

It was being discussed tonight in LA- SEA game. Apparently they can only step in on topics that can be a coaches challenge, not blown calls on clear holding or PI. Tonight the officials basically ruled you can run into a reciever and grab his arms a full second before the ball gets there without looking for the ball

This topic is OLD. A NEW topic should be started unless there is a very specific reason to revive this one.
