Players usually have to be cut before going to the practice squad.

Yes, then they are resigned. And for the most part they are cut and told they are being brought back. Not like he was just outright released.

Cant believe im going to agree with Mike schopp , but taking out your best players because of fumbles is only hurting yourself.

Should we take Allen out for half a game or more if he turns the ball over ?? Definitely not, and Josh is probably the worst fumbler on the team, and we should not sit any player for fumbling. Nobody wants to fumble and punishing them for doing so is foolish and archaic.

Absolutely. Mackenzie should get the job back. Stevenson has had an opportunity. I still think we never should have let Roberts walk.

how is Roberts doing these days?

I think its just that someone once accidentally called him McKittrick and it stuck.

If there's more to it, somebody else will have to fill in the blanks.

The name stuck when he was mostly utilized on trick / gadget plays.

I mean anyone who doesn't answer "yes" is not paying attention to the games. He had a horrible, killer fumble in the Colts game, sure. But otherwise he was one of the best returners in the NFL this year. I get that they wanted a look at Marquez but right now Isaiah is still the superior player.

Can someone explain the whole McKittrick thing?

And yes I’ll all for McKenzie getting more time on kickoffs and in the offense.  I feels he’s underutilized

So, he was benched because he fumbled once and...what...3 years ago in Denver for the Broncos?

Also, we signed him off the practice squad.

Two egregious mistakes earlier this year - from Heavy

"Mckenzie, who took over as the Bills kick and punt returner after the departure of Roberts, is one of the best specialists in the NFL, but he’s not always a reliable player.

During Buffalo’s 26-11 win over the Miami Dolphins on October 31, McKenzie tried to field a punt at the 8-yard line but muffed it, and the ball bounced into the endzone before being recovered by Bills receiver Jake Kumerow for a touchback.

As Heavy.com’s Nate Dougherty reported, “Though the Bills avoided what could have been a very costly turnover — or even a Miami touchdown — in what was a close game, they were able to keep possession.”

Earlier in the season, during the Bills win against the Washington Football team, McKenzie failed to get into position to field a short, pop-fly kickoff that then bounced on the turf and was recovered by their opponent."

The failure to cover the kick vs Washington led to a TD that made score 21-14.

It's a trust issue with McD.

looks like McKenzie might be the slot receiver with Beasley out.

Also a lot of guys not watching, which is pretty normal for fans

Isaiah McKenzie fielding a punt is more jittery than my aunt on 3 cups of coffee.

Don’t think that’s the point though… the risk doesn’t out weigh the reward with him IMO. He’s too much of a liability to put the ball on the ground back there.

Too much of a liability based on what, exactly?

I'm rolling with Stevenson. There's some ability there, he needs reps and hopefully his feel can get a little better with experience, then you've got something. McKenzie simply always makes me nervous and I don't want that in a returner.

This.

If the reason why McKenzie wasn't doing jet sweeps etc was because he qas returner then this fixes both.
