Singletary is decent in pass protection too, so it shouldn't be a hard decision. 

 

The nice thing about Singletary is he is shifty and he also has good contact balance so he is tough to bring down once he gets a little momentum. Even though he is small he can still break through tackles and get a couple extra yards, sometimes more. The problem is when he is hit immediately. He doesn't have enough sand in the pants to deal with immediate contact.

This is the best description Ive ever seen on him.  Ive always noticed this in his game, but wouldnt have been able to put it in words. Excellent!!!!!!!

I think the biggest reason Singletary has lost carries is his tendency to put the football on the ground.  It was great to see him run hard yesterday with no ball security issues; that’s what is going to get him more touches going forward.

And this was behind a patchwork offensive line with several guys hurt and playing out of position. 

 

I hope they stick to this featuring of Devin as the primary runner and keep getting him 15+ carries per game min.

I still like Moss over Devin just need a better o’line coach.

At the beginning of this season, I thought both were good complements to each other. But Moss has had a disappointing season , he has neither the shiftiness nor the vision. 

 

Curious to know - what are you seeing which makes you prefer him over DS?

I must be pretty dumb, because I liked both Devin and Moss heading into this season.  I was a huge Moss fan from his college days and thought he'd turn out to be a steal, but that just hasn't happened.  NFL appears to be a step too quick for him.  I'm good with featuring Devin going forward, since he's the only RB we have on the roster that can make something out of nothing.  Still need a legitimate feature back this offseason through the draft, FA or trade.  Devin would serve as a great change of pace to a legit No. 1.

Coach Tuesday's point still stands - it's not Daboll's fault DS was caught from behind by the DB after cutting back. That play made it painfully obvious.

That's a good point. But all of our ball carriers have had fumble issues, including Josh.

I don't know if it was Motor or the o-line, but whatever they did to improve the running game, keep it up.

Moss would be so much better on a team with a semi-decent oline. He will be in the league for a while. But on our team, if there is a hole, it closes rapidly— Moss isn’t as productive in that situation.

I've also felt along that Singletary is the best back on this team and needs to get the bulk of the carries. Not a superstar by any means but there are very few truly elite RB's left in today's NFL.

 

But in this case it's better late then never and hopefully this coaching staff realizes they need to stick with the hot hands in other positions as well (i.e Gabe Davis, Obada, etc.).
