T&C Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 They've been showing a lot of the lead up down here this week... I'll switch between the Pats/Colts game and this until the fight actually starts. 9pm means nothing, they drag it out a long time lol. Frank hasn't left off working out from his NFL career, guy is buff. The ex basketball player is taller but I think/hope he takes him out with sheer brute force. Go Frank! https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2951532-deron-williams-vs-frank-gore-fight-odds-date-live-stream-and-tv-schedule Quote
Bill from NYC Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 I am very sorry to see this. As tough as he was/is, he has taken too much punishment to put himself at this much risk. Jmo. 3 1 2 Quote
Nextmanup Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 The builds of the two combatants are not very similar. Williams has a typical, slender, NBA sort of frame and is 6'3" and 200 lbs. Gore is 5'9" and like 215 lbs; built more like a gorilla. 15 pounds heavier on a 6" shorter frame tells you just how differently he is built. Williams should enjoy a huge reach advantage, but it won't matter! I'm going to say Frank Gore kills him. 1 Quote

Bag of Milk Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 I would not want to put myself between Frank Gore and something he wants to accomplish. Legendary resilience, work ethic and heart. 4 3 1 Quote
Mr. WEO Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 does the winner take on Tanya Harding? 1 2 Quote

Florida Bills Fanatic Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 I admire Frank Gore but it may be time to give the old body a break and enjoy being a multi-millionaire. He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. We all know he is tough as nails and has the heart of a champion. Quote

Unfortunately, he has taken more head shots that 100 average 76 year olds. Looking at the league's history in regard to cumulative head trauma, Frank is pushing his luck beyond any point of reason. 1 Quote

He's been into boxing for quite awhile... and its not like he's fighting George Foreman in his prime... its an ex NBA player with the same dream. I live in the TB area so I might see more "local" news but in one interview he said it was nice to drop his kids off at school... and then pick them up. He seemed pretty on top of things... and determined. Like someone mentioned above, I wouldn't want to get between him and his desire... he's pretty stacked. The casino and the better hotels are sold out for this one... guess the main draw is some youtuber I've never heard of and some other guy I've never heard of. Real boxing is kind of dead imo. 1 1 Quote

It's not like he's hard up for money and he probably wants to do it so on one hand good for him, but CTE is an issue. It also seems like every retired athlete is boxing or trying MMA nowadays, and a few of those brains probably really shouldn't be. Edited December 17, 2021 by Nelius Quote

I’m pretty sure he won’t leave the ring like Apollo Creed. https://sportshistorynetwork.com/boxing/nfl-players-turned-boxers/ Quote

While I can't comment on his financial status, we do know this fella has the heart of a warrior. Quote
