All the double-digit wins were actually a bit damaging because the team wasn't challenged. Then the losses came and the team HAD to have thought "maybe we aren't so good with no wins against quality opponents". I imagine there was even the irrational circumstance of testing themselves with self-inflicted deficits. I think this entire process bottomed-out at halftime. Some sort of switch seemed to be flipped right after. Never mind the ***** officiating — Scott Novak should be tied to a seat in the 300s for the winter, that ***** — but I believe the Buffalo Bills finally proved to themselves what they've tried to prove all season: They can come from behind and compete with a quality opponent. And they finally did it against the SB champions and the facelift king. And yes, they will run the table. They've woken from the nightmare. I agree and made reference to all that too in the linked post I put here in my OP. I didnt want to retype all the same stuff here, so just linked it. But I definitely see this the same way 1 Quote
Mat68 Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Lets save all the 1 score wins for January and Feb. That second half was the best the team played since Kc. They keep that kind of play up they absolutely can win out. Buffalo will be a scary matchup for anyone if they get hot. Some fans are pessimistic, I would rather be optimistic. 3 game Buffalo will be favored by 10 plus Ne certainly is beatable. 2 Quote

We had 3 tough games remaining and had not really shown we can play to our potential yet against top tier opponents. In previous losses that were popularly called here by many of us as potential "wake up" games, we had not actually bounced back in any of those games the way we did with the Bucs. Our struggles were throughout those games, and we hoped they would figure out in practice and film study. Bucs game, we flipped a switch and mostly dominated the second half on both sides of the ball until the refs stole the game from us at end of regulation. This feels different given how we fought back and seemed to figure some things out in that second half. Hence my reason for optimism...this reminds me of the Cardinals loss last year. 2 Quote

Success Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Well, I'd certainly be excited if that happened. The season has been a bit cruel thus far. Winning out & taking the division would erase a lot of the pain & disappointment to this point. Actually, it would erase it completely. 1 Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 No confidence in any type of run with the way this year has gone. Beat Carolina and see where you are at Quote

Obviously, Pats game on paper is our toughest test over the final 4 games, but I think if the weather isn't as big of a factor as it was the first game that we will beat them decisively, especially if the offense we showed in the 2nd half of the Bucs game is here to stay. Panthers, Falcons, and Jets are all teams I expect to win by double digits. NOTE: All of this assumes Josh misses no time with the turf toe. As someone who doesnt dissect every thread title and content, i appreciate this thread.. i like and share your optimism.. 2 Quote
BillsFanSD Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Obviously it would be great to win out. And this team is good enough that's it's certainly capable of doing so. We're going to be heavy favorites in three of these games, and I like our chances to get the split with NE (although that's still a tough game of course). That said, I'll be honest that I'm kind of pessimistic. Despite what we saw in the second half yesterday, this team just doesn't seem to have clicked. This season feels like a very slightly better version of one of those innumerable drought seasons where we're "in the hunt" up until about the second to last week of the season only to get bounced due to one too many inexcusable or fluky losses. The obvious difference is that we have a top-shelf QB on the roster so there's good reason for optimism going forward, even if this year feels like a bit of a wasted season. 1 1 Quote

biLLyBuFFs Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Love the positive, being a realist though..The Bills are probably not winning the Pats game IN Foxboro. This year has had a let down vibe ever since Henry showed the rest of the league how weak our Run D is. That and the coaches don’t seem to be on the same page at all with game planning. Jags loss was truly inexcusable for this Team. Hopefully they can but, man..the Bills are in the funkiest of funk right now. Quote

But the 2nd half yesterday showed when the Bills play to their ability they are capable of beating anyone. Almost pulling off a comeback against Tampa with Brady was impressive. They can definitely beat the Pats with Jones who is nowhere near the QB Brady is. They will have to play their "A" game. Anything less and they probably lose. Belichick's teams usually don't beat themselves with stupid mistakes. 1 Quote
Thurman Kelly Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Anyone who is predicting that this inconsistent team will 4 games in a row, at a point when they absolutely need to do so, is pretty optimistic, but not very realistic. The Bills are one injury away from missing the playoffs. 1 Quote
