I thought Edmunds would improve but he constantly picks the wrong hole and/or misses the tackle in the hole.  He's an outside linebacker.

I'd take a bag of rocks over Edmunds.

That’s not our defense…..we don’t need a Brandon Spikes. All teams are gonna do when they see him on the field is throw the ball and then you guys will be complaining about that.

It’s only a handful of you guys that hate Edmunds ……some of think he’s actually a good NFL LB…..not elite but definitely above average.

I don’t hate Edmunds at all, I think he’s borderline elite at pass defense but very below average at stopping the run.

Cunningham could be a great complimentary part of us being a team that can no longer be run over, why are people so against this idea?

Ok this is utter nonsense. Adding a LB that can play the run isn't going to cause our secondary to fall apart, just like it won't be a miracle cure for the run game. I'm fully aware our defense is base nickel, and he's not coming here to supplant Edmunds or Milano. What he does give you is incredible versatility in run-oriented packages, and right now that would cost us <$1M cap hit. Anyone against this idea doesn't watch football outside of Bills games (he's a tackling machine). And if you have been watching these Bills games and still have playoff aspirations, you should probably be aware that the Titans, Colts, and Patriots are going to be in our way.

The locker room issues are way overblown. The Texans are a dumpster fire that just gave him a $58M contract and less than a year later benched him after a coaching change. Do you want a dumpster fire example? GM Bill O'Brien didn't want to pay Hopkins, so he traded him for a washed-up RB and a 2nd round pick. He then spent that money on Cunningham, got fired, and got to watch his replacement David Culley bench Cunningham for Kamu Grugier-HIll.  Now he's waived and the Texans have to eat a $12M cap hit next year. Yikes.

Regardless, don't freak out when an AFC rival grabs him Thursday because it won't matter -- we can't run the ball anyway.

What the heck are you talking about? Where did I say our secondary would fall apart if Cunningham was on the field? Stop trying to add words into my post to fit some argument.

It’s the NFL there aren’t anymore obvious running downs unless it’s 3rd and inches. Teams don’t always run on 3rd and short. The point I was trying to make with Cunningham is once teams see him on the field it’s a dead giveaway that we’re playing the run, thus causing them to get him lined up on a RB or TE and throwing the ball and that will be another thing you guys will be complaining about.

As opposed to playing nickel and daring teams to run it down our throats.

im not suggesting we even need to remove TE from the field, put ZC at MLB, TE on the Outside and sit Taron Johnson at time on 1st and 10. Don’t give ZC pass responsibility, maybe have him play run and blitz if it’s a pass. Do something creative

Titans are lower on the waiver priority than Buffalo so they never put in a claim. Not surprising. This isn't the regime to claim people released for disciplinary reasons whether they'd improve the team or not.

Tremaine Edmunds has been quite good for the majority of this season.

He did not have a particularly good game against the Pats on Monday night. Other than that, he's been in the PLUS column far more than the MINUS column this season. We also saw how much worse off the defense was without him in the Colts game.

Still, recency bias (and a host of other, less flattering considerations) lead to people on here basically ready to cut Edmunds and replace him with a street free agent.

Madness.

For 275k!?

Man this is difficult to rationalize, I didn’t think he’d get to us, but the face that the Titans got him means we CHOSE to pass.

Hopefully we get our run defense figured out or Beane will have to answer for why he felt this wasn’t a win now move.

Not replace Edmunds but for the money ($275k) and the fact that ZC is so highly rated (number 1 vs the run over the past 3 years)

it’s hard to say we wouldn’t benefit from him being on our 53

Lol Titans just go for it.

They take after their coach who is aggressive and doesn’t back down.

Things are rocking in Tennessee.

Bills defense is different then the Titans scheme wise.....a run stuffing LB who can cover is maybe better for them?

TE has been great against the pass, close to elite in fact. But you can’t deny that he’s below average against the run because his instincts have not caught up with his athleticism.

ZC is a beast an 100% instinctive LB, TE could’ve learned a thing or two from him.

After the Colts and Pats game you think he would be welcoming addition. Guess not. Guys just gotta execute better, that’s  all I keep hearing from this team for weeks now.

Good chance we have the Pats twice, plus Indy and/or Ten in the the playoffs. Would be at least a run package/goal line LB. And someone that can add some toughness. Add in that Klein is on the COVID list and our depth is Edmunds, Milano, Klein, Dodson/Smith...

Do you ever get tired of stroking every team in the NFL that is not the Bills?

It all starts with the coach.
