Sisyphean Bills Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 That sucks. Mark was a good guy, just a class ahead at Tech. Quote
Let's Go Buffalo Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 R.I.P. Mr. Mark Pike. He had a motor for sure! One of the great all time Bills, and an even better person. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. 2 Quote
QCity Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 Good article on Pike right before the '94 Superbowl. PIKE IS STALWART SECRET OF BILLS' SPECIAL TEAMS 3 1 Quote
Spiderweb Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 Yes, Steve Tasker was a great Gunner. Yet, for my money, Mark Pike was our best ever Special Teams player overall. RIP Mark. Quote
ExiledInIllinois Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 RIP.. My brother died similarly @ 56 almost 1 year ago after contracting COVID-19. Quote

Tasker was not only a great gunner, but his game awareness was a major factor in flipping about 8 games during those Super Bowl seasons in the Bills favor. The fact that both guys stuck on the roster of an elite team for 10+ years, playing almost exclusively special teams, speaks volumes. Edited December 9, 2021 by Buftex 1 Quote
Pete Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 RIP Mark Pike. I was always a big fan. Those Bills teams were loaded- offense, defense, and special teams. Tasker and Pike were the best pair ever! 1 1 Quote
nucci Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 He made the huge hit in Oilers comeback game on the onside kick recovery. Great player Quote
Not at the table Karlos Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 Had the pleasure of having lunch with him and his son a few years back. Great conversation. Prayers for his family. Especially his son. Hope he still has his support system. May he rest in peace... Quote

BuffaloBill Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 This is very sad news - all the best and prayers go out for his family and friends. Quote
Saxum Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 It is a shame that he got hit by two illnesses at same time for Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is something which has high recovery rates these days. RIP. Quote
Chandler#81 Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 A great player and a better Buffalo Bill. Talk about High Motor, Mark Pike wrote the book on it! A true WNY treasure with his tireless ‘give back’ to the community! Rest In Peace, #94. 2 Quote
chaccof Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 Very sorry to hear about Pike. Makes me feel old (which I am) when a player from 30+ years ago passes away..... 1 Quote
