So they said here all summer.... lol We were supposed to be headed for a 17-0 season and home field on the way to our first of many SBs. Who was going to stop us? NE can likely get a home playoff game, win that, and then.... who knows, but their undefeated on the road this year. Quote

There are many teams in this league who can pull away and leave them for dead, and NE won't be able to respond. Hell, we could have and should have done that last night, but our entire game plan was horrific and Josh didn't have a solid game, in part b/c the OL was lousy yet again and NE has a decent DL. All we had to do was get a TD or 2 earlier and make BB come out of his turtle shell...and they would have struggled to do that. NE isn't going anywhere this year. Please remember this when they are the #1 seed and hoisting the Lombardi trophy again next Feb with a rookie QB and posters on this forum are still blaming the weather among other pathetic excuses as to why the Bills are sitting home watching. "There are many teams in this league who can pull away and leave them for dead, and NE won't be able to respond." "Just blow them out, no problem." LOL The problem is NE's defense is constructed so that it's very difficult for anyone to "Pull away and leave them for dead." Sounds easy to say, but it isn't.That's the whole point of building the entire roster so that if your offense isn't a pinball machine, your defense can be damned good to complement that. Also, NE's offense isn't bad at all. It's just not a quick-strike run-up-the-score offense. The rookie QB is very good when necessary but not great like a veteran yet. But the running game and passing weapons are just fine. Implying that it will be easy to beat them in a playoff game if you get a big lead, assumes some team can actually do that. i don't buy it. ---- Edited December 7, 2021 by OJ's Glove Quote
BigDingus Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Yet we lost a game 14 to 10, missed a FG within 35 yards, and were in the redzone AGAIN at the end of the game where another FG would've won the game. Seems like despite all the BS, the current "build" of the team could've beat the Patriots. They didn't, but the idea that we're "built to beat X" and X only is dumb. 1 Quote
HamptonBillsfan Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Playing like they have the last 6 or 7 weeks, they couldn't beat KC either. Quote
Clyde Smith Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Been a ton of drops this year. Maybe Beane should invest in robotic hand implants for some of our catchers. Quote

I saw an interview where Beane said he was looking to upgrade Oline this season as well, but couldnt find the right fit. Now its desperation mode. He has to use every resource to beef up the line next year. All draft on O line and RB. Quote

We're not built to handle physical teams that can run the ball. The offense has little room for error and unfortunately we often shoot ourselves in the foot with bad play calling, penalties at the wrong time, drops, red zone inefficiency, etc... Yeah, but they whipped their ass. Quote
SCBills Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 The only silver lining is that our issues this year are very fixable. Salary cap rising, along with high priced vets we can move off of should allow us to move assets to areas of need ie., interior offensive line and running back. We have a strong core to build around in QB, WR1, LT, RT, CB1, LB, S & TE . (I’m giving Dawkins a pass this year as he has a track record). How we fix it this year?.. Get into the Playoffs and then hope Allen levitates. But moving forward, we know what needs fixed and will have the capability to address it. Quote
stuvian Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 we are now a turf team that can't win in cold weather and the word is out that our run D is a welcome mat for opposing RBs Quote
