Well, the common thread with breida and mackenzie is immediate trips to the doghouse after fumbling, which is really short-sighted.

This topic came up on the radio during the week.  It was suggested that the old fashioned NFL coaching rule of "benching" a player if he fumbles is just idiotic, and treats the player almost like a child.

As though the player just wasn't thinking clearly enough or trying hard enough not to fumble.

I mean, stuff happens...and these guys all know fumbles = BAD.

So then why are you benching the guy?  More mediocre coaching.

Silly article imo.

There’s little reason to be as down on the Bills as that article reads unless you’re trying too hard to make a point.

7-5 is the absolute worst record this team could have at this point in the season. It’s a season of thin margins and we have been on the wrong side thus far.

Totally disagree. This team was by everyone’s estimation a SB contender. They have gone 3-4 in their last seven games and in the process have lost to their archrival because they were outcoached, got blown out at home by a team they beat in the playoffs last year, and lost to the worst franchise in the league over the last decade because their vaunted offense couldn’t score a TD.

There is an alternative universe where they are 10-2, but since all of the advanced stats (not just FO) show that the Bills have performed poorly late  in close games on both sides of the ball, they are a rightful 7-5 in the universe we actually live in.

Performance (however you want to define that) late in close games is such a strange method of quantifying a team’s quality. Why not early, or in the middle?

Guess no go on Antonio Williams. Kind of a let down. The RB room could really use a shakeup and it’s obviously not in the cards now. Moss is useless. Hopefully it’s 26/22 tomorrow now because I don’t even want to see Moss with a helmet again this season

Who knows.  It might now be a universe that serves us better in the playoffs.

Psychology is such a big part of the game.  Maybe after winning for close to 3 months straight last year gave the team too much confidence, if that's possible.  They have to scrape & claw their way now, the rest of the way - could be a benefit.

It definitely felt at times earlier in the season that they were just waiting for their coronation.  There are no illusions about that now.

Who IS a good team right now?  New England?  The team that only beat us because we made more stupid mistakes than they did?  If they are the best team in the afc and they barely beat us in a weather dominated game, how does that make us “not good”?

It was a super close game……why do you use the word spanked?  They had 11 more yards.  They had 8 less first downs (80% less than we did).  Their FG kicker was better (when in actuality, they are both pretty much equal) and they didn’t fumble while in scoring position (probably because they were only in the red zone 1 time).

You’re overreacting.  Big time.  We are all disappointed in the the season we’ve had, but don’t make it more than it is.

Did you actual watch how bad our linebackers got pushed off the ball and did not maintain their gap integrity, they were making poor reads at the line of scrimmage.  They also could not shed blockers either.   Our linebackers could not stop a handicapped person on crutches from gaining positive yards on a running play that night.  If the Patriots actually would have thrown the ball the score would have been worse.  Bad weather or no weather, our team got embarrassed by the Patriots.  Run play after run play and Buffalo was still playing variations of a stacked nickle D with up to 10 players at the line of scrimmage.   Our coaches are a embarrassment on both sides of the ball.  My friends and I have watched the Bills for 45 years now and I mean since the 70's and I have never seen as such a bad display of coaching.  The level of incompetent play calling with our OC is killing this team.  They are not making adjustments during a game.   What did they do at halftime to change the offensive or defensive approach for the second half.  Nothing!!!   MCD is joke when it comes to coaching in critical games.  This has come to the forefront as a major problem this year and I am not the only one on this forum to see this.  He made one adjustment in the 4th quarter where Milano ran twice up the middle behind the pulling guard and Milano made two stops.  Sorry, to little to late.  He should have sat Jerry Hughes.  This guy contributes nothing to our D line anymore.  He had 1 tackle, no stops or pressures in this game.

Meathead Daboll definitely is not off the hook either.  This guy is absolute garbage, like said in other post, if it was not for Allen being

able to improvise this year when plays have been blown up at the line of scrimmage this team would have a losing record right now.

Our Receivers kept running go patterns all night, no crossing, hook patterns, or slant patterns.  Nothing to generate any offense.  I even saw Diggs and Sanders just standing still 2 yards apart from one another while Josh was looking for someone to throw it to.

Then we run our RB's up the middle the majority of the night.  They have zero chance at getting yards because our backs are to slow and can not bounce the run to the outside because they have no speed at all.  They are to slow getting to the line of scrimmage once they get there its a 1 to 2 yard gain 90% of the time.  Same SLOW ass runs all the time !  MCD gave up on Bredia in this game after he fumbled.  Same thing he did to McKensie a few games ago.

Singletary had only one good run the entire game.  A 16 yarder in the 4th quarter.  That is not good enough.

Then stupid offensive penalties in the Redzone,  at the end of the game.

Just typing this stuff gets me so aggravated because I just don't know how these coaches don't see this on the game film, and in all the game time photos.

Coaches coach, players play,  but our players are playing and not being coached as well as they should be.

I am hoping that I am wrong about this weekend but I just don't see Buffalo changing their game plan at all this weekend against TB.  This team sorely needs to change up the play calling this weekend.

Never seen so many fans write the obituary for the team they follow 1 game out of first place.

We haven’t hit bottom yet. This gets much worse. That will become reality for the few hanging onto blind faith tomorrow evening. The wheels came off this teams a month ago.

I have 0 confidence that Brian Dabol will put a game plan together to beat the bucs tomorrow… That’s why I’m having trouble getting up for this game

I don't think everyone is saying NE is the best team in the league...but I do think the Bills are better than them!

The rematch in Foxboro, given reasonably normal weather, should be epic.

If it's s snowstorm or blizzard or crazy wind, forget it.

You just have to concede Tampa's 30+ points and count on scoring more if you want to win this game.

If we aren't scoring in the 30s or higher, we lose.

I expect another close game in Foxboro.  The Bills wont be able to heavily stack the box and ONLY play the run during good weather.

The fact is the Bills are 7-5 and not in some alternate universe.  Its a let down no matter how you look at it.

Unfortunately you will.  He doesnt fumble.  He doesnt get any yards but hey... he doesnt fumble.  1st and goal and wasted down baby!

I'm amped up like I am for every game but man, it's definitely harder to get overly excited about a potential win tomorrow with how we have been playing the last couple months.  I was really hyped about this game early in the season and couldn't wait to get a crack at this team, but we have so many self-inflicted issues on this team right now that it's hard seeing us getting it all together so quickly to be able to beat a very talented Bucs team.  There used to be a time where I believe this coaching staff was getting the absolute best out of everyone on our roster and now I think the coaching staff is holding this roster back in a lot of ways.  We've had big games here and there since the Chiefs game and have come up short in these big spots ever since.  I'll need to see before I can believe we can win a huge game against a good team.  Do I think we can beat the Bucs if we bring our "A" game?  Absolutely.  But we haven't played to that level against a good team for a very long time.  Here's hoping we can find it somehow over the next few weeks.
