Oh dear

McKenzie better stay off of social media or else he won't be playing for this team much longer. I don't think he is good enough to be fanning the flames.

It’s starting to feel like there could be guys that don’t want to be here. The joy does not seem to be there as much as last year. Guys seem much more uptight. Not the lose fun group we have seen.

Me too.

If only he were our coach!

We'd probably have a few rings by now.

If you gave BB our entire team he would be devastating. Let's assume McDaniels as OC. He'd have the proper players doing their job. He'd trim the fat on underperforming guys. He doesn't put a square peg in a round hole like our stooges.

Underperforming with respect to expectations will do that to you.

In the last few offseasons we have lost guys like Shaq Lawson, Jordan Phillips, John Brown and Matt Barkley.

While it may be true that these guys don't offer much on the field they were guys that you could physically see were well liked, kept the vibe light and kept the mood upbeat in the locker room. Last core locker room leaders like Kyle Williams and Zo. None of that has been replaced. This season's team just doesn't seem to have gelled like in years past.

I have been a Bills fan for over 50 years.  I have dim memories of Jack Kemp, Billy Shaw  and Cookie Gilchrist.  I remember my Dad being furious for trading away Daryl Lamonica.  I was in a bad marriage in 1981 when the Bills performed a miracle with a Hail Mary against the Pats and it cheered me up when I was in a really bad place. Joe Ferguson limping in San Diego.  I remember it all.

I have lived in Washington DC for 40 years.  My daughter who is 32 and about to give us our first grandchild is an avid Bills fan even thought she grew up here.  And my wife of 35 years (second time being the charm) is one too even though she is from down here too.  And collectively we all remember the good and the bad since the 1990s, bickering Bills, four consecutive Super Bowls, the drought, etc., etc.  I had season tix from 2002 until 2016.  Bought Club Seats to help keep the team in Buffalo.  Gave them up because of Rex Ryan.

I just want to say that I don't think I can do this anymore.  The pain of being a Bills fan is just too great.  And being the Washington Generals to the Pats for over 20 years, and now again, is just too much.

So I am passing the torch to you younger folks.  I hope it goes better for you.  I will try and focus on other pursuits.  After all it is only a game, one the Bills have played very poorly for over 50 years .  And even the Cubs and Red Sox finally one.  It can happen to you.  And I have enjoyed your company.  It has been group therapy here for nearly 25 years.

And to all the trolls and Pats fans on this board.  If your intent was to make a long suffering Bills fan even more miserable, you have succeeded.  Enjoy the good fortune you have, and the additional misery you have placed on others.  I hope it makes you smile.

Be careful out there!  🙂

I won't tell you not to do it, but I will tell you you'd be missed.

That's what happens with expectations. Expectations is the mother of misery.

I think the pressure has also got to them. Even early on when they were winning it felt the same.  But what we don’t know is there other issues? Divide related to philosophies, decisions, vaccines, social media or who knows what. During the honeymoon phase those things can be marginal but over time it can different.

I'm not sure why people that "age out" have to have these grand announcements here on TSW.

Most of my father's generation that used to go to games religiously are sippin' Coors lights on the golf course down south when the Bills are playing now.

None of them put back of hand to forehead to tell us why and remind us of the context.

Some people can stomach the ups and downs of following sports teams when they get older........a lot of others don't have the patience for it any longer.

Good luck in fan retirement.......but please people..........writing your own Bills obituary is super Lampy.

You aren’t going to console Casey D and beg him to stay? 😂

Nah.  Sorry, Casey.   When I was growing up the old men used to say things like "once a man, twice a baby" to describe their moodiness and "once I hit 60 better find someone else to operate this machinery, etc.."  because they were self-aware of their increasing tendency to lose their patience quicker.   Not sure when we stopped realizing that was natural.   I think you actively gotta' fight that tendency to get emotionally upset or resign yourself to less stressful activities.

I havent been to a home game in years due to proximity.  Imo the constitution of Bills Mafia is terribly low.  7-5 and people are quitting?  You quit in the 2000’s. They went on a playoff run you jumped back in.  See ya in the playoffs when you give em another chance.

Well.......that's obviously not the case.    Fan support thru the drought says it all about the willingness of fans to support the team thru thick and thin.

Bills fans are rabid fans of the team.........but maybe not as understanding of the league as they need to be yet.

The dominant team doesn't just go away so you can have "your turn" to win for a decade and a lot of people are mad because it's not that way.

As supportive as Bills Mafia is..........understanding the NFL as a whole isn't a strength yet because the Bills haven't been in contention enough for the past 2 decades for many fans to feel compelled to follow the entire league closely enough to understand that it's not going to be "easy" just because you have a QB now.

The crying and blaming In the post game interviews by McDermott and co were also pathetic.

McDermott especially.  The comment implying he didn't trust Stevenson or McKenzie to field punts really is amateur crap by a head coach.  Not his best moment.

What exactly is “grand” about bidding adieu on a small market teams’ fan forum? Hell, the amount of Bills fans in WNY alone who've never heard of or visited here is an overwhelming majority. We regulars take pride in our little corner of the world, if only to find like-minded folks to commiserate with..  Like you and I, Casey has bore witness to the near entirety of this teams’ existence. With the exception of little more than a dozen years, this experience has largely been a forgettable debacle of misery and humorless comedy. Everyone here has stood graveside of a dearly departed who passed never experiencing an NFL or NHL title. I won’t even go into John Y. Brown.. We’re Buffalo. We suck and we seemingly always will. No one who doesn’t have family here, moves here by choice. Why are scenes from pregame last night being shown repeatedly across the nation today? Cuz it’s our image to the outside world. Our mantra. 🤷‍♂️

The man stopped by to turn in his fan card after a long life of broken heartedness, shattered dreams and anger issues.

I commend our brother Casey and often wish I could do the same. I can’t. The chains that bind me are too strong.

dammit..
