It humbled Starmer, because for all his talk of sending British troops to Kyiv, he won't do it until the war is over and a peace agreement has been reached. 

 

Why? Pretty much for the same reason that Biden said he didn't want to empower Ukraine enough to actually defeat Russia. Only enough to force a stalemate and inflict damage on Russia. 

 

Why? Because in a scenario where there's an actual existential threat to Russia, they have the power to destroy every European nation within a matter of minutes. 

 

Maybe the English and French could respond in time and ensure M.A.D. But how about we never find out? 

 

Trump is right to press for a negotiated peace. The delusional and brain washed are pushing for an expanded regional conflict and potential nuclear war.

russia wants to continue its land grab and will.  trump actually admires this and is proposing the same for America (greenland, panama, canada).  a Nuclear war has been a threat since ww2.  What's kept it at bay is NATO and the western alliance of multiple democratic countries especially the US.  trump has turned that upside down and made it appear that the only hope of stopping it is appeasing russia.  and you're buying it.

The British Army consists of 30,000 active duty soldiers. Whether that size force would make any long term impact on the outcome is subject to debate. What the EU prefers is Americans on the ground.
