Maybe he should draw a line and dear him to cross it? Like Obama did.

You know, it's funny.

During the Obama administration the Russians moved into Crimea and essentially just annexed it without nary a peep from the world aside from bloviating in the press.

During the Biden administration the Russians appear to be making a move for the entirety of the Ukraine.

But when Trump, allegedly a sock puppet controlled entirely by Kremlin kompromat, was in office, Russia did...what, exactly?

Stop making real-world sense...everything must viewed through the false-lens of the American Leftist Media

This can often appear to be inexplicable but must be accepted, well, um, because....Orange Man made a crude joke that was caught on tape

Or maybe we should send a couple squadrons of fighter-interceptors to Ukraine to protect their airspace

Still obsessed with Obama?

Along with all the support personnel and equipment.  And then what?  Start WW3 over Ukraine?  Who do you think you are, Victoria Nuland?  Even Biden's gang that couldn't shoot straight are smarter than that.

Or stop WW3. If France and the UK had sent forces to defend the Sudetenland in 1938 instead of appeasing Hitler, WW2 might not have happened

Don’t forget Tibsy’s Trump Coppertone meme.  I think they get things backwards, a lot.

On SpongeBob SquarePants they call it Opposite Day.

Interestingly Biden said he was there in 38, taking fire from the Huns, not long after Anschlussing a young Austrian lass. The battle was so fierce that at one point, he was beating them off with both hands.

Not even close to the same situation.

Biden says US troops in Ukraine are off the table but promises withering sanctions if Russia invades

I am not going to lie, this part gave me a chuckle:

"Ukraine has been seeking membership in NATO for several years, but is not in the final stages of entering the defense bloc. Biden has said previously the country must first do more to scrub out corruption before joining."

Biden Infuriates Eastern NATO Allies With Outreach to Russia

Another diplomat was more specific. The unease among the eastern flank, where countries that were once dominated by the Soviet Union now find themselves on the front lines against an aggressive Russia, centers on just what kind of concessions the talks might lead to in terms of political guarantees and curbs on NATO’s freedom of movement and its ability to carry out actions.

Russia should under no circumstances be given a say in who may or may not be a member of NATO,” Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said at a news conference on Thursday. Moscow’s “most worrying wish is to divide Europe into spheres of influence.

We remember these kinds of moments from our own history and we are in no way naive on this issue.”

Remember, back in the day, when we would try to infuriate our rivals and appease our allies? This whole world has gone completely mad.

Is this a serious suggestion or a joke?

Not meaning to be disrespectful, just wondering.

It's message board serious. I would seriously consider it, yes.

"Message Board Serious," is probably an indictment.

The idea is preposterous, senseless, would never be considered and likely produce irreparable harm.

I'm not sure if you are familiar with this kind of thing, but it takes a whole lot more than what you propose to ever be effective.

So would an invasion of Ukraine if we just let it go. Just like when let Halie Selassie get run over by the Italians. That would have been terribly easy to prevent. We did nothing. And Hitler took notice. Putin's launched two invasions already as we sat back and watched. Sooner or later these--yes I'm going to use that term--dominoes are going to start falling more and more

Easy.

I'm not going to expand a response to other options.

Just going to stick with what you posted and I asked about.

Deploying a "couple of fighter squadrons" would require an airfield to operate out of, which we don't have there, some kind of command and control capability, which would involve AWACS, tankers for air-air refueling, a huge ground force for support and maintenance.

Just a crazy, impossible suggestion that the pilots would be wacky to undertake.

Sure it is. Hitler also had supporters in USA just like Putin does

Yeah, no it's not.  Taking over Ukraine isn't even close to a prelude to trying for world domination.  And he'd need to enlist the aid of several other countries to even have a shot.  The world would be on him/them before they ever had a chance.

Yeah, no it's not.  There is zero chance Putin could or would want to start WWIII.  He'd need to enlist several other countries at least.

That's not the issue. It's them snuffing out democracies and republics, just like Hitler was doing. China is totally in on this, see Hong Kong.
