But invoking him is a convenient response for posters here that are too invested in some fantasy outcome of this war to look at the situation objectively. I've pointed out time and time again that Ukraine's biggest issue is a shortage of competent troops and fighters. Not the need for more advanced weapons systems. To support the Kirsk operation they had to pull most of their best fighter off the eastern front which has allowed the Russians to advance more quickly. Its a big gamble. I think its a certainty that militarily this operation fails but what other objectives such as political or pulling NATO into the conflict there are I wonder? One thing is certain, in this war of attrition they are running out of soldiers. But any attempt at injecting some objectivity are met with the usual references to Putin. Good luck with that. Uh huh. Your views just happen to align perfectly with what Russian disinformation wants Americans to think. It's pure coincidence!! 1 1

Did the Russian shell company send you check with those talking points or are you just a proud useful idiot? Like when Ben Shapiro tried to flex his bona fides on a British interviewer, without realizing that Andrew Neil is a pillar of the UK's right leaning media. 1

It was not shot down by Russian defenses. Evidently Zelensky fired his Air Force Commander over this. It is always really difficult to make sure you don't shoot down your own guys, and they apparently have not figured this out. 2
Tommy Callahan Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Putin's payback for the strikes to Russian air and energy fields?

B-Man Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Bad news Russia About to Take Pokrovsk Jazz Shaw When Ukraine launched its diversionary invasion of the Kursk Oblast in Russia, they managed to catch the Russian army off guard, at least temporarily. To a certain extent that strategy has worked, and the Russian army has been forced to shuffle around some of its forces in response. But at the same time, many military analysts warned that the move would draw some of Ukraine's dwindling forces away from the primary focus of the war on the eastern front. Those warnings seem increasingly prescient this week, particularly when you take a close look at what's happening in Pokrovsk Raion in Donetsk Oblast. Pokrovsk is located in the eastern section of the country, near the edge of the territories annexed by Russia, and the people there have been taking a beating. A significant percentage of the population has already been forced to flee and the Russians have only increased their push to capture that territory since the incursion into Kursk. This week, the Wall Street Journal published a striking - if depressing - pictorial feature of the current conditions in Pokrovsk. The scenes are not for the faint of heart. What little food that remains is being rationed and the Russians are close enough to strike a knockout blow at any moment.
Coffeesforclosers Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Who is this guy Jazz Shaw and why should we care? Is he a better source than Rybar, Geroman, Igor Girkin, Jack Watling, ISW, Michael Kofman...or any Osint account? If he is, why? If he isn't, why bother? 1 1
sherpa Posted September 4 Posted September 4 "Military analysts." In this conflict, never have so many said so much and been believed so little. It's like viewing a Hamas press release. Total waste of time. 2
