you must be older than I was when married in my mid 20's.  before that, politics had no effect on dating.  Marriage, yes.  Dating, no.

have you seen the kids today? Hell, half don’t know what their own gender is

Gee, I wonder why it's getting harder to accumulate wealth these days?

I wonder why marxist "fair share" slogans work on them so well?

It couldn't possibly be because a large percentage of young people incur massive debt in pursuit of mostly useless degrees while getting a side of indoctrination by woke marxist professors before they even step foot in the "real world"

I own a business.  I pay a solid base, provide great hours/freedom and you can make a ton in commission.

I give extended lunches for those who want to go next door to the gym and work out.   I demand that they prioritize family over work (obviously as long as they don’t abuse it).

However, in my profession, you have to get licensed, which requires passing 2-3 exams, which I pay for.

It’s next to impossible to find people in my age group that can, or are willing to do that.

Which tells me that they never would’ve put in the work to build up any sort of pipeline to make money beyond base salary anyway.

So, fine … there’s always jobs at the Amazon’s of the world, where you’re nothing more than a cog in the machine and then wonder why you’re miserable and can’t get ahead financially.

It’s actually driven by economics. The things that were commonplace for previous generations: affordable homes, education, families, etc. are out of reach or extremely expensive for many millennials.

Where people of previous generations could get good career jobs and begin accumulating wealth in their early 20’s, that’s not how the economy works anymore.

People used to get more conservative as they accumulated wealth. Millennials aren’t accumulating wealth at the rates or with the ease of previous generations and that drives their politics.

Towards socialism.  How do you think that's going to go?

There’s actually a really interesting conversation to be had on dating culture for Millennials & Gen Z, specifically with apps.

According to studies, something like 80% of women swipe right on the same 20% of men.

Clearly the impacts of that statistic have ripple effects that go far beyond just dating as most people in cities now rely on these apps to meet others.

Yeah, I've heard that too even though I haven't found much of a scientific study on it.

I think it was an OK Cupid survey that presented that data.

the crazy part is ups is hiring everywhere and they have the best benefits around. Amazon pays less and actively works against them forming a union to give them better working conditions but people flock there.  You sound like insurance business?

Amazon you get ***** pay, and insurance. Ups drivers are getting 50 bucks an hour after two years with a pension and the best blue cross health plan. (50 bucks in new contract).

Just because it isn’t unfettered capitalism doesn’t mean it’s socialism. There’s a wide breadth of economic policy between the two.

Last I checked, the Dems twice rejected Bernie (who is a democratic socialist in the likes of Scandinavia and not full socialist like Venezuela).

The dems started these hot takes when they declared anyone who disagreed with one part of their ideology a nazi.

That's insane.  UPS Workers are Teamsters, with Teamster protections and Teamster lawyers to fix there traffic problems.

Usually though, you used to have to put your time in as package handler before you get a truck. That's overnight, minimum wage work, at least it was when I was there about seven years ago.

I have some friends that work there. You will be worked harder but you will make a lot more money with all the benefits. Amazon is all about work whenever you want and come as go as you please. Ups outside of a few major areas is now showing weakness to the union after a couple bad contracts.

no just dreaming of the world peace we had under the last president. Getting out of wars and such. Unlike today where we’re tip toeing into world war. Just a question…how old are you? Curious if you’re military age?

Huh. So Amazon is co-opting the gig economy's work style. Do your friends work there full-time?

A couple hours in an Amazon warehouse is the next best thing to a gym membership.

Yea they’re drivers. One is at top progression right now the other has been there for almost three years and in the new deal will be going from 28.75 to about 50 if the rumors are correct. 100k for both delivering boxes. They’re lowering progression cause they can’t keep drivers
