benderbender Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 I’ve read about drills in training camp using wet footballs to focus on techniques for playing in rain, but I haven’t come across any articles about the Bills specifically practicing with cold or wet footballs for an upcoming game. Is this urban legend? The Colts game seemed to show a team that was unprepared to play in weather. Belichick says that he doesn’t worry about the weather until he arrives at the stadium. Somehow I doubt that. 1 Quote

Somehow I doubt that. Oh, that's bunk, Belichick will have the team doing wet ball drills all week. He probably has the crew keep the wet balls in an ice chest, or has the players soak their hands in ice water then go catch. I'm sure the Bills practice with wet balls but I don't know if they do it to the same level as Belichick's teams. Quote

loedward22 Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 (edited) Our players are starting to have quite a bit of experience with bad weather... that's good for prep Edited December 4, 2021 by loedward22 Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 I have a buddy rub Vaseline all over my body. It's easier if a buddy does it, there are spots I just can't reach. Try this on Game Day with a buddy and let me know how it helps. 1 Quote

Somehow I doubt that. In college, we would simulate a wet football in 7v7. It was dumb. They’d dunk the entire ball, over and over into a bucket of water. In the games, they’d switch out the ball so often it was never similar to how we’d practice. The bigger issue is keeping a dry hand and towel. I think if anything, I’d be more effective to practice throwing with a wet hand than a wet ball. Quote
gjv001 Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Now, if we build a domed stadium siting and playing in cold rain is no longer an issue. 1 1 Quote
