That's the idea! If he is cut or traded in the offseason.

 

Whoever signs him must go in knowing that you're getting 6-8 games max. So why burn those games in September/October?

 

Sign him, let him practice, but don't play him until December when he could do the most good for your team. When he plays he's amazing.
