That guy was never going to matter IMO. If he had to play we were in serious trouble. This team has championship aspirations. I need guys that you can win in the playoffs with. Levi and Johnson give you that look. Then deal with the slot.

They're not going to move Taron Johnson out of the nickle.  They'll roll with Dane Jackson.  Behind him we hurt.

Yes, because people saying that Beane made a mistake (including some of us that s pointed out this exact issue in the off-season) is the same thing as us calling for his firing or saying he’s terrible at his job.  Such weak sauce here.

Well what’s the mistake? The common gripe is that 4 CBs on game day is super light and could hurt us if someone goes down in a game. It happened last night and they held up.

Their 4 CBs have done just fine all year. Wallace is a suitable #2… how many teams have two Tre Whites? There’s always going to be a drop off between your star and the next guy.

The CB depth thing has some validity in the event of injuries on game days… otherwise it’s kind of a weird argument.

Has the team said anything?  Typically reports around ACL tears are “team fears….”, they usually know when they test it, and the MRI ends up being confirmation.

No, they haven't.  And apparently we'll get our next update on Tuesday.

How many problems can he address? This team was in utter shambles 4 years ago.

This team drafted 3 DEs with their 3 earliest picks over the last two years.  They could have drafted a CB, something most Bills fans wanted.

What in the hell are you talking about.  Jackson then Lewis.  I’m sorry they don’t have another AllPro lined up.  No team does.

There was a former top 100/All-Pro CB sitting in Denver waiting for someone to trade for him. Was the price too high? Would've been nice to at least hear that the Bills inquired. We heard about Adrian Peterson.

Or traded for Kyle Fuller

Well according to some on here, if you don’t have an all pro at every position and have starter level quality players as your back ups who all play on team friendly deals then your GM is a failure

Seriously? The Bills defense held up against Trevor Siemian (NO’s third string QB) and an offense that was on its third string RB and was missing its best WR, starting RT, best TE and even best FB.  Yes, we held up against that juggernaut without Tre.  I think it might be tougher to do so in the coming weeks though.

No one said we needed two Tre Whites.  But a fourth CB who isn’t a total liability seems like a pretty reasonable ask.  The FO chose to address other areas - including putting a ton of resources toward depth on the DL - but CB depth was largely ignored.  It seemed like a poor decision this off-season and it looks like it just caught up with us.

What fourth CB do we have that is a complete liability? Jackson?  Lewis?  They’ve done Ok when they’ve played.

EJ Gaines if he's in shape would make sense for the practice squad. Not sure what else is out there.

I expect with a "mini bye" and no pressers until Tues or practice until Weds, we'll see some of our media putting together a list.

This Defense with Tre got smoked by Tennessee and Indianapolis.

Last night just showed us what we already know..  if you have an average/below average Offense, you will get mowed down by this Defense.

Maybe without Tre teams just light us up through the air, I don’t know.. but what I do know is that when our Defense struggles, it’s because good, balanced Offenses are able to run on us.

Fuller has played terribly the last year.  You stop to think that maybe our backups are better?

It will suck if Tre has an ACL.  Odds are they’ll scour some rosters to bring in another CB.  But the two backups will play more now.  Welcome to the NFL.

I wasn’t asserting that the Saints offense was a juggernaut? That’s was just unnecessary fluff lol

You’re missing the point. The concern was that we would be in a difficult position in a game if one of CB went down because having 4 CBs active is playing with fire.

You’re asking for a 4th CB  (I’m assuming boundary CB because Taron is strictly nickel) who isn’t a total liability… the reality is that guy doesn’t play unless someone gets hurt.

It’s whether you believe keeping that guy on the active roster is worth it as compared to another position. That same caliber 4th boundary CB that we’d be keeping on the active roster is going to come off a practice squad or FA.

You seem to be conflating the words depth and talent… it seems like you’re more worried about upgrading Dane Jackson or Levi  Wallace than you are about adding another solid CB?

Have they?  I guess we will find out what they’ve got.
