The mother of the terrorist is blaming the lack of mental health services for her decision to bail him out of jail and give him use of a car after he used it to try and kill someone.

I’m sure she was coached to say that...sounds like something a Left wing politician would say...😉

There aren't enough mental health services to watch people with major issues 24/7.  All you can do it lock them up one way or another.  Not, say, bail them out and give them an instrument of death.

The “burying the backstory” thing works for both sides. Example:

the latest Michigan school shooter. Major media outlets have somehow not gotten around to reporting this:

https://www.thedailybeast.com/ethan-crumbley-identified-as-oxford-high-school-michigan-mass-shooter

An “open letter” to Trump on the public blog of the shooter’s mother. That letter was signed:

“A hard working Middle Class Law Abiding Citizen who is sick of getting f****d in the a** and would rather be grabbed by the p***y”

Stay classy, Michigan.

And so the dad (stepdad?) buys a gun and leaves it lying around for disturbed 15 year olds son, who proceeds to shoot up his school.

Who talks/writes like this in plain view of their kids? Who blames the Democrats and illegal immigrants (read the rest of the story) for their own failures in life? Sadly, most of America blames someone other than themselves. Some think their savior may be found in Democratic Socialism. Some think it may be in know-nothing National Populism. This is why I worry about the fate of my country.

I saw that on CNN already but the mother is not a good example of a responsible gun owner

Good that it’s getting picked up by major media. The parents getting charged with manslaughter is quite a

stretch (no doubt there’s reckless endangerment type charges it

may be pled to), but right now we don’t know the full circumstances.
In Sandy Hook the desperate mom of the troubled/autistic shooter thought it would be a good idea to get the kid involved with guns as a hobby ….

So they found and arrested the Michigan shooter's parents, as they should have.  When do they arrest Brooks' mother?

When they start arresting parents of wayward 39 year olds, I suspect.

Maybe they'll send a truancy officer.

Really, stop searching for "yeah, but what about" talking points here. The DA in the Brooks case should've fought for no bond or at least a high bond with stringent conditions and maybe a bunch of people would still be alive. The parents in the Michigan case should never have bought a troubled 15 year old a Sig Sauer pistol and should have yanked him out of school and immediately into counseling when they were informed of his behavior. Instead they literally "LOL'd" it off ...

Yes, because Brooks wasn't troubled and hadn't just been released from jail for trying to run someone over with a car.  Great points there!

You do realize that parents are legally and morally obligated to control the behavior of 15 year olds? That it would be good if they could also control the behavior of violent 39 year olds, but that there's something essentially different about the situations?

I watch this crap and I begin to think that Hillary had a point - these loser families are clinging to their gun culture, but it's even worse - it's now guns without religion. What kind of mother publicly posts what this kid's mother posted? In about 2016, when he was 10 years old? (scroll above if you haven't seen it). What kind of parents buy their 15 year old not a hunting rifle but Sig Sauer pistol and give him access to it whenever, wherever?

What is wrong with people?

The thing is this.  These parents are obviously missing a couple cards in their decks but what the authoritarian media and left always do is take one extreme example and generalize the narrative to a wider group of people.  Now it's all parents that have children with access to guns that are the problem.  Some big and wide ranging action is needed to control millions.  Maybe all black SUV drivers should be flagged?  Which is absurd.  But imagine the outrage?

I think you were outraged by the lax criminal justice system that allowed the Waukesha killer to go free. And rightly so; so am I.

You ought to be outraged by the actions (inactions) of this family too that directly and predictably led to another massacre.

And we ought to be looking for ways to prevent both of these types of things from happening again. I don't know if the involuntary manslaughter charges against the Michigan parents will stick (I looked a bit at Michigan law and after reading more about the parents, it's really not such a stretch), but I applaud the effort to use the legal system to try to prevent these types of preventable events.

Oh yes, I see.  It's about guns.  And likely that she was a Trump supporter.

Yes. Partly. Just like some of the Waukesha killer’s history is about being an angry loser who was drawn to the more violent side of the BLM stuff.
I can see that. Why can’t you?

I can see you're a raging hypocrite because a gun is involved and not an SUV.

I devised a law several years ago to combat this situation of kids getting the parents gun(s) and shooting someone. That is, if your kid takes your gun and shoots someone, you go to JAIL to 6 months no questions asked. Not probation or community service, JAIL.  Maybe parents would be a little more careful to make sure the little cretins don't take their gun. You know, lock it up.

I am glad they have arrested his parents in Michigan but the mother is Waukesha is just as guilty if she allowed him access to the car. This is not a surprise result of givong eirher of them use of dangerous instruments.

If the mother was a white Trump supporter than the left would be besides themselves with righteous outrage. Since she's a black democrat, then it's ok, nothing to see.

That shouldn't be how it works in a legal system where you have due process.  Why stop at six months?  If you're going to just hand out sentences with no questions asked why not just say the death penalty?  No questions asked.

And, of course, juveniles are responsible for all sorts of violent crimes resulting in injury or death to others.  I’m not interested in being a victim of a criminal using a gun, but being stuck with a knife wouldn’t feel like a win for me either.
