Bills only had three possessions in the first half. The third after the McKenzie fumble really ended the game. This game was mostly on the D. But something more cosmic is wrong with this team. The personnel is better than last year, but the team much worse. I don't know what it is, maybe the vax issue which is galling to me and might be to others on the team when key guys are out because they won't get vaxed. It gives other teams--almost all of whom have more players vaxed--a competitive advantage. Maybe it has nothing to do with that. But something is wrong in that locker room IMO. Where are this offense’s long methodical drives? Sometimes in a tough game you gotta control the ball and move the chains. This offense hasn’t shown that ability. We need a defensive coordinator that’s gonna go Buddy Ryan on Kevin Gilbride. Yes the defense was bad yesterday, but the defense has been the bright spot this year. Quote

Teams started figuring us out last year. Daboll has no answer other than doing the same thing and he built an offense that can’t run the ball. I agree 100%. Quote
The Firebaugh Kid Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Yesterday was a perfect storm (no pun). Got down big, so hero ball made an appearance. McKenzie stole all hope on that one mistake. We were looking at 17-14 or 17-10 heading into the half. Coupled with having to come back in the pouring rain against a team dominating the trenches. A tall order. They're not very tough, and they do not play well without Star and Brown. Quote
JoshAllin Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 I figured the game was going to be off when Ford killed the momentum with the penalty where Allen was going to run for a big one. Then the McKenzie fumble pretty much sealed it. 2 Quote

This is a middle of the road team, at BEST. And that's not gonna change as long as Beane ignores the trenches. In fairness he hasn't ignored the defensive side of the ball. They made a concentrated effort to improve their pass rush. Quote

Go back and think about each drive of the game on offense. It seems like every drive stalled due to an execution error— drop, penalty, missed kick, errant throw. i don’t think the offensive scheme or even the offensive line was to blame yesterday. I think that is too narrow a view, yesterday that is. Execution was not the best that is correct. However, the problem is bigger than that. We've now scored 13 pts in 6 quarters against Jax and Indy, 2 of the worst pass defenses in NFL. We looked good against the Jets because they couldn't play physical enough up front against us. The problem all year is we get beat up front by physical fronts and Daboll makes us one -dimensional too often. Teams don't respect that we will run the ball and just attack the spot where Allen is and cover. Edited November 22, 2021 by D. L. Hot-Flamethrower 1 Quote
SoCal Deek Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 The Bills aren’t terrible. They just aren’t anywhere near as good as they were hyped up to be. After ten games that’’s clear now. Last night the Chargers looked like the Bills want to look, with a no name support cast around a young stud QB. And yet, the Chargers almost blew it and have the same record as our Bills. Things are going to have break the Bills way to make the playoffs. I don’t see this roster beating the Patriots or the Buccaneers. Quote

Also Rodgers hit long passes. 24-7 & I still had hope. That's a good thing - all too often you come off as having no hope. We all want a SB win. Earlier this year I had us as legit SB contenders, now I've downgraded them to a legit playoff team. I remain hopeful (but skeptical) that they have a SB run in them this year. Quote

Clyde Smith Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 At this time, Daboll reminds me of Kevin Gilbride and how everyone was calling for him to call more run plays. Ultimately that cost him his job. Quote

Process Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Well when you have two below average RBs, a bad line, bad coaching, and two of your top three WRs are 32+ yo and 5 ft tall, you are probably not going to be very good. Offense needs a complete rebuild next off-season with Allen Diggs Knox and Brown as the core. Quote
zow2 Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Every national show this morning is ripping the Buffalo offense. Saying all the same things. The offense is one-dimensional and completely finesse. No physicality whatsoever. Teams game plan to make the opponent one dimensional and the Bills do it themselves and make it so easy for opposing defense. 2 Quote

aristocrat Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Need to get Cole going more. He makes the offense go and we have got to get more targets there. 2 Quote

Imagine how the locker room feels when it’s plain as day to Joe 6-pack and every talking head. This season is definitely on the brink the next 2 games. Lose to either New Orleans or New England and I think you’re gonna see a lot of player dissension. 1 Quote
