Last time I was in Canada (2019) I saw a Mexican restaurant serving Poutine tacos.  It was breakfast time and we didn't go back for lunch.

So you can test here then travel then show your test at the border within 72 hours and they let you back in

The rules were tougher for Canadians reentering their own country than for Americans on a day trip.
